Thread: What do you pay for Bio Engineered Tissues? A BE wants to know.
I pay from 2.5k per tissue to 5k per tissue. Hate to break it to ya but I simply don't have the cash tobuy tissues at 7500 to 9000 per tissue. *shrug* but charge what you need to charge, if you're too expensive you simply won't sell, that's the way of the world.
How many resources does a tissue take?80 or so?
You are about to become very rich. I just was reading the armorsmith board and found out that at least some of the enhancements work in armor. Tailors still need to make the cloths but I bet you can find an armorsmith with some tailoring who will pay you more than those tailors who tried to lowball you.
I was paying 2K per tissue and thought that I was getting a steal (but that was a few weeks ago). I then turned around and made them into shirts for 15K that I sold to my armorsmith husband's rich customers. I gladly would have payed triple the price I did to get the tissues. I was very nice to my BE and gave him a bunch of eggs for free so he gave me a deal.
Prices may have droppedfrom when I last bought the tissuesbut hold your ground on your prices. When the armorsmiths on your server figure out that they can make BE armor, you can get the price you want.
I pay 4k per advanced tissue, usually in crates of 5 or 10. If I buy multiple crates, I make sure they have the same serial number so that I can run em in my factory with one schematic. I'm not exactly thrilled with the price, but it's hard to find a BE with these tissues readily available or to find one willing to make them for me as I need them.
I pay 5k per tissue, but it is profit sharing rather than a straight per tissue price. And large runs like that are gold to a tailor (who then only has to do one factory run themselves).
P'las
Well if it is gold then why are they not being bought?![]()
If anyone of you on Lowca are interested in working with me, send an email or a tell. I even have some of these made into crates of cloth.
I don't buy tissues at any more than 250 a point, because I sell my finished products at an extra 500cr a point.
That way I make enough profit to have my factory creating bio-enhanced clothing components, and I get compensated for the time I spend shuttling to the BE's location, picking them up, and crafting with them.
Part of the reason some BEs have a hard time selling tissues is that they are a huge investment. I rarely have the money to spend on components that I'll use to make clothes that may sit on my vendor for a few weeks before selling. Tailoring is not the big-money crafting profession that weapon and armorsmith are. If you're able to develop a relationship with a tailor and truly feel you can trust them, you may want to sell them some on credit. This is a risky proposition for you, but I know I'm willing to pay more for the tissues when I work with a friend who just gives them to me, then I give him his cut of my vendor sales. It takes a well organized tailor who's willing to put a little more work into tracking sales, but I just don't have the capital to work any other way.
I suspect a lot of folks are in my position. Even if we agree with a BE's pricing, we just can't afford much up front.
I would like to charge a fair price for my skill mod tissues, and think I have what seems to be a decent rate. But some tailors have told me that since my market is so limited (tailors only) that my tissues are worth very little until a tailor makes them into something of value. I find it difficult to believe my tissues are worth only 1-2k each in crates (I usually try to make at least 100 at a time per run) but when these are put into clothes these same tissues are suddenly worth an additional 6-7k each added onto the price of the clothing item itself. So the arguement that my market is limited is a fallacy, as the market is in actuality anyone who can wear the clothing.
So here is the question. My pricing is 500 credits per increase for single mod tissues, and 300 per increase for dual mod tissues-is this not a fair pricing? Remember these are not single tissues but factory crates of at least 100 identical tissues. And my tissues are generally pretty good, examples would be +16 bleed defense, +16 each to camo and mask scent. I am able to make lesser items on request but generally stick to the higher mods since no one has ever asked for lower mods.
These things are a real pain to make. So I don't want to make them if they are of so little value to the middleman (tailors).
I am paying 5000 for the +15 and up tissues and dont really have an interest in lower bonus tissues,,
I charge 12500 for any item that has one tissue in the item. I find that my sales are steady but not to the point that I am swamped, which is perfectly fine with me.
First of all, remember I sell +15 or better and although I am not a be, I am led to believe that to make +15 or better requires a higher quality resource.
Second, when you are truly a custom tailor, you must allow for critical failures and rejections by the client who changes their mind resulting in a higher average cost.
Third, I dont believe I am the most expensive nor the cheapest on my server, but my pricing results from multiplying my tissue cost times two and then adding the normal price of the item if made without the bio-tissue.
Fourth, there is a cost to create the bio-crate and other crates that are part of the clothing item and also dont forget the rent on your shop and vendor, its all legitimate cost that needs to be accounted for.
Last, if the maximum bonus is 25 then a +12 tissue would take three tissues to max the bonus resulting in another clothing slot that cant be used for another bonus.
I actually raised my price 5000 for my very limited +16 camo and +17 scent items and still have steady sales. I craft fewer items, make as much or more total and have time for Image Design which I truly enjoy.
