Have you got any feedback from players of what they are going to do with their clothes now? I got two so far, some guy who said he would run naked, and dancers on the forums that will prolly leave most of their clothes in bank, let alone buy more... Anyone got better news?

I actually sold a lot of clothes yesterday. If yesterday is any indication of the way players will respond to the decay of clothing, then they don't seem too concerned!

a player would have to die what, 200 times UNINSURED, and never ever pick up a clothing repair tool during those 200 deaths. Or 1000 times Insured.

cry me a river. i cant see how this will affect tailoring all that much - other than the random (its like 1 in 20) failures on clothing repair, decay will take a bit to manifest.

sure the pvp griefers who like to clone rush cant really do it now without reprocussions, but did they really buy all that much from me/you/us to begin with?

To the naked people - thanks for putting forth the very visible "Dont bother trying to answer my questions, im not gonna buy anything anyway" sign out for us...now if it could just appear when you send us tells. =P

I spend most of my time in a city or at my workshop so I don't know if it's more prevelant out in the combat zones, but I don't see all that many people running around in just their underwear. A few. And males only. I have yet to see a single female in just her unmentionables. I don't peek under their armor though. Heh. And some of those few males are wearing hotpants instead. Counting coup in PvP with the added shame factor of getting DB'd by a guy in a thong (so one nearly nude warrior told me as he stood over the corpse of his latest victim - who was also wearing only hotpants. LOL!)

Have to agree with Kemal too, that once they see it really doesn't cost hardly anything to insure clothes, repair them or replace them... I think this tempest in a teapot will die down. Let them pout and shout for now. They'll be back. Ha! They are Terminators. Die in Style.

/whisper And hey. You could do like I did and buy an extra droid or two with a 10 item storage module in it to stash your fashions, tools and whatnotsin. R2 with crafting station and item storage, a Power droid with item storage... how many droids can I have again? LOL.

And though I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet, this will also boost sales on the stagnant tool market. Till now, I could make or buy the highest quality tools and that was that. Now if I get caught out with them on me... I will be looking to get replacements. Things like this help the Novices too, not just the Elite professions.

Actually 1% is more like 1/100

and 5% is more like 5/100 or 1/20,,,

just more frequent repairing

Durability isn't back in because it wouldn't effect the current decay system. Decay is now automatically either 1% or 5% depending on insurance, regardless of the item's durability. Adding durability back would just confuse people even more, and cause unsuspecting dupes to pay tailors more for clothes with higher durability that doesn't do anything.

Also, 5 goes into 100 20 times, so after 20 uninsured deaths your items will be at 0 condition if you don't repair.

Anyone actually used a clothing repair kit yet? Do they work? And is it worth it, or do they just end up lowering your overall condition to the point that they're hurting more than they're helping?

I have used a repair kit. It works pretty well. If you can repair the item before it gets too far gone you have a much better chance at repairing it.

I have NOT noticed any drop off in sales, the BE items are still selling very quickly. I am just thankful that my vendors will now sell items for 30 days not a week!! Makes my life so much easier now.

Is this the way it works or is it 5% of the item's current condition as opposed to max possible?

If decay is in, and our experimentation stat is back, why can't I seem to experiment?

I see the stat sitting there, but I still can't get variable quality on clothing items. They're all the same hit points.

With decay in I'd really like to try my experimentation points to make more durable items.

I inadvertently tested that ,,drops to 990 then to 980 so it seems to be calculated on the original condition not the decayed condition

I used Clothing Repair Toolson some 4 pieces of jewelry and all it did was lower the max condition to 950. I botched one repair and took it down to something like 880/880. I can't remember. Idestroyed the Bangles as soon as I blew my roll.

Well, my sales were down a lot yesterday, but I am not sure of what the reason is. I just got back from a 2 week vacation, so it might take time to become established again. 2 weeks is a very long time in this game.
