I am considering joining the venerable ranks of the tailors, but I did have a question concerning the profession. Is there anything at all to be gained from achieving Master Artisan and its related abilities/schematics? I apologize for the possible "noob aura" this post may give off, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not really.
All the tailor skills are based on tailor modifiers and there are no master artisan schematics used in tailor at all.
Although you may want Master Artisan to make bikes
I havs 4/4/1/0 in artisan and working towards 4/4/3/0 so i can get a shop going - then i will stop on artisan because I have run out of points (and nothing else is worth having IMO)

The only perk you get is sockets on the domestic arts items (based off the engineering line.) Any other perks are unrelated to tailor.

Yeah it is nice to have it to craft bikes. That is how I make all my money. I have been a master tailor for4 months and never broke 1 million credits. with vehicles I have made over 4 million in 2 weeks.
Then I used all that money to buy a whole bunch of good tissues from a BE so I could make some really good and expensive enhanced clothing to sell. Now I am finally able to make a great living as a tailor. Only took me 6 months. ![]()
Plus with the new patch you can make peoples vehicles the same color as their clothes. ![]()
So there is a bennefit, even if it is not direct.
Really though, only Droid engineers need Master artisan. Gosh I feel sorry for those guys. I got a really cool probot crafting droid though.
