Thread: The Lost Tissue...

I love making BE clothes, but hate it when I have to make something that requires 2 exact tissues. I still can't get over the fact that one of them is going to be wasted I really try to stay away from promoting the clothes that require multiple cloths of the same exact components. Like if someone wanted medical mods maxed out in a shirt? There are only 2 shirts that will max out. They both require 2 slots of synthetic cloth - each slot requiring 3 of the same exact synthetics. That means out of the 2 tissues that you use...4 will be wasted!

How do you go about the lost tissue-issue? Do you push to do it even though you know they will be wasted? Tissues are expensive and yes charging for them is a great thing to do to make you feel alittle better. But now-a-days it is hard to find a BE that can make them, so I try to hold onto the ones that I have...lol

*Hopes & Wishes* Maybe one day they will stack...

Hon, the customer has to realize, that they can have the +12 to +18 muscle shirt for x amount of credits, but if they want the +25 shirt, it's going to cost them 6 times the price, because that's how much you are going to be spending to make it. Sad, but true. I give a deal on those clothes, but still cringe when I hit the assembly button. 6 tissues is a lot for a crit failure

I absolutely hate the idea of wasted tissues. That would be like asking weaponsmiths to put 2 or 3 krayt tissues into one slot on the Power Handlers of their guns. Wow, would we hear some screaming about that problem. What I would like to see is the tissues in a stack adding to combine with each other. Then we would only need a crate of +9 mods for those medical shirts. the second slot could have normal tissues, or maybe entertainer cloth. MMMM A fully armed and operational healing shirt... "You may heal when ready Admiral"

If the customer complains, explaining it usually helps and they understand. If they don't, then tell them... "Door is to the left. Good day."

Not to nit-pick, but…there are 5 shirts that will take a full medical, entertainer, or creature handler mod—it's just that three of them are female-only (good thing of the 4 I'm going to craft tonight when I get on, 3 are for females )

As far as "waste" tissues go…what the client wants, the client gets. Sure, they're going to pay more for having me use extra tissues, but it's their money, and if that's how they choose to spend it *shrug* Although, now that you mention it, a customer came to me not too long ago asking about full stun and full bleed mods on a single outfit. I explained the options and we decided on something—which is where the interesting part came up. My customer said the other tailor she had been talking to (whom she also bought a similar outfit from) said that s/he couldn't enhance the spec-ops duster. I never really thought about it, but now I'm wondering if it was a matter of waste tissues, or lack of factory-run cloths with enhancements…hm…

The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.

hmm, odd. Seeing as there are only about 3 jackets that usemultiple RFP's in a single slot, you might think that the tailor didn't bother making the tissue into factory crates. I do this as a matter of course. When I am buying 100 tissues at a time, it's simply easier to have them all turned into cloth by crating in a factory. Otherwise I have to go through the tedious (and dangerous) process of subcomponents while the customer waits.
