Thread: Can loot or quest items even be repaired?

I made some clothing repair kits today because I have an Imperial Medallion that is condition 5/1000, and I want to try and repair it because I just realized last night that it has an intimidation +3 bonus (not that, as a tailor, that's going to come in handy to me, but if I ever decide to sell it it's gonna have to be in better condition than that). However, when I used the clothing repair kit, the Imperial Medallion did not come up on the list of clothing items that could be repaired. This is a quest reward that you get doing the Imperial theme park. Any ideas?

Because they're changing that very soon, and lots of folks are aware of that. They're going to make 0 condition items unwearable. Since this necklace is one death away from that, I'd like to know if I can fix it, or if it's a lost cause.

Medallions seem to be non-repairable, I tried one for a friend a little while back and had the same problem you did.

I've got a pile of looted clothingI can test with my repair tool so I'll have a go and see what can and cannot be repaired.

Yeah, and I'll submit it to the devs, cause... well if they're gonna make our stuff decay, they'd better make it repairable.

(Okay, I'm just bitter because my favorite sword had a failed repair with a 100% repair tool at 50% condition and went poof this weekend, so repair and I are not buds.)

I'm sorry love That sucks. I HATE losing stuff to repair kits. I lost a pre-nerf Krayt DX2 that way. *cries*

As for the topic at hand, yeah, they really need to make all decayable items repairable. At the very least, they need to make all wearable items repairable, looted or not.

A pre-nerf krayt DX2? I thought only FWG5's were nerfed. In fact, I know somebody who recently made a kryat DX2... Were DX2s nerfed some other way, or am I missing something?

(I wonder if this thread will be completely co-opted...)

To continue the co-opting: DX2s were actually made better recently—the ideal range mods were bumped up…so any pre-patch DX2 is actually a nerf'd one, not a pre-nerf one.

And repair kits…ugh, where do I start? Losing my ultralite compo chest and pants within a minute of eachother? Losing a sword only slightly worse than n'Jessi's? I'm afraid to use my scythe because I expect it to poof next time I have to repair it…and I really love my scythe (well, the one of five I use regularly)

The only items I've not been able to repair so far are:
Dark Jedi Medallion
A Black Sun Medallion

The rest of the looted clothing I have could be repaired (including Wookiee Life Day Robe, various Tuskan Raider items and the non-tailor craftable clothing).

I tend to use "pre-nerf" as a reference point, not actually referring to DX2's. I know those are actually better now, especially made with krayt tissues. Anyway, that's off-topic.
