Thread: Sockets and Possible Bug/Potential-Exploit Relating to Them
I'm kind of new to the high level tailoring, so not sure on the frequency of sockets (for skill enhancements) in clothing, but after I first got to Experimentation-4, I would get on average one 4-socket article every 4-5th combine. The question I have for you masters out there is:
Is 1 in 4-5 the norm for 4-socket clothing?
Do you charge more for socketed clothing?
Has anyone seen/made any clothing with more than 4 sockets?
As to the possible exploit/bug relating to this, I obtained a "Clothing Assembly +1" enhancement and stuck in my boots. The net result is that my 4-socket clothing ratio went from 1-in-4.5 to 1-to-1: Every single thing I made resulted in 4-sockets. I must say it was certainly nice being able to do so, but I'm wondering if this is intended or not? My guess is no, with the reasoning that 4-socketed clothing should be very rare but I could be wrong. Since I'm not a master tailor I'm not sure how often this occurs normally.
What do you masters out there think?
I think it's irrational of you to scream exploit, we have enough people doing that, and this is NOT an exploit.
Master tailors make items with 4 sockets almost always.
I was under the impression that you had to have at least +10 of a skill tape (or combo of skill tapes) to actually affect your ratings. At least that's what I've heard. I don't think we know enough about skill tapes to dicern whether it's an exploit or not. I've seen +25 skill tapes that go up for auction on this site, so +1 you wouldn't think would make a difference.
Perhaps you've run into some very good luck. If not, then you got a good find. Yes, I usually charge more for 4 socket items. And you can get it too.
Didn't "scream" exploit. Just simply informing people of something that seemed odd to me and asking their opinion on it.
Thanks for the responses everyone else.
