Was looking on the bazzar on Corbantis today.

Saw a master tailor, selling master tailor items for 3k, and a nice blurb with waypoint coords to thier place.

Master Tailor items are the top of your Professions. A armorcrafter gets 100k+ for the top of his line, a weaponsmith can get the same also.

When you price a master tailor item at 3k, you devalue the entire tailor Professions.

agreed, though it may be a loss leader. But in theory, yes don't sell our profession short.

Posting a loss leader on the bazaar is bizare! I post more expensive items on the bazaar with coords to my shop, where I sell "off the shelf" items at a 10 - 15% discount over the bazaar costs. Give people a reason to visit the shop.

I'm selling most master stuff for 1.5-2.0k.

I could care less if an armor smith makes 100,000.

you gotta be **edit**ting me.. 1.5-2k for a MASTER level item? I hope you're being sarcastic or you're totally screwing the economy on bria.

I'm selling for 12k and people still demand a lot. Few people have complained about prices, they can piss off. I worked to get tailor, i'm gonna get me some money.

You're welcome to do what you will, but "set" prices are not an "economy".

i'm not saying go set prices with tailors, but i find selling a master elite crafting class item for 1.5-2k to be a horribly bad idea and business practice, and you're screwing a lot of other people by doing so.

I'm screwing no one. I sell at a reasonable profit at 1.5-2.0K.

The people who are charging 10,000% over their cost are the ones doing the screwing. And they're usually the ones upset at me too. *SHRUG* Let them scream. I honestly don't care what they think.

How can you possibly be making a profit at that price? harvesters, factories, store costs alone... are insane..I know I spend a good 20k-30k a day on Maintenance alone.

(and save the "I'm not a tailor for profit speech....We're all in this for money in some way or another)

If that's all you value your work at, so be it, personally I think my time and skills are worth quite a bit more, as do my 500+ regular customers.

I'm not greedy, I'm intelligent. I tip entertainers (whether by money or clothes), I tip medics with hides or money or some checmical resources, I give basic clothes to new people, but I'm not about to sell something that requires 10 components and 100 resources and a lot of my time to be able to make for the cost of a 2 minute mission. That's ABSURD.

You're undercutting the market of probably every other tailor on your server, and I'm sure nobody likes it. I wasn't happy to find someone selling dusters for 500 credits on my server, and none of the other tailors were either. They're popular, in demand, and they're high in the trees, so we charged more.

I'm not a tailor because i wanted millions of credits, i'm one because it was fun. I'm well off as far as credits, but that doesn't give me the right to screw over the other master tailors/novice tailors/almost masters/etc by totally **edit**ing with prices. You're a poor businessman and I mean it honestly when I say I hope you get boycotted or some other tailors kick your ass.

I could give away master tailor stuff, but how dumb is that? You put time, work, money, and effort into getting something and i'd be surprised if you make much of a profit at all unless you have someone feeding you resources for free. The fact you see nothing wrong with what you do also disturbs me. as far as I"m concerned, I could charge more if I wanted to, and if people pay it, good for me. I talked with a few other tailors, we all decided on some prices, and that's what we're staying with to avoid pissing each other off by cutting prices much like you are.

I've just about given up my battles to adhere to some standardization of pricing. Most tailors I've seen, or at least have posted sell their master items between 8-10K. I can see 12K, and I could see 6K, because neither of which are too far outside that bell curve. People that sell these items at 2K are outliers (though I'd have to whip out some statistics power to prove). They are few and far between. I can't even guess as to why a businessman would sell an item at 2K when he could just as easily sell as many at 6K, or more. Perhaps in snowleapord's case, there is a competing master tailor within close proximity that vastly undercut him. Snowleapord can either move, or go down to that level. Or perhaps snowleopard is that person that is undercutting everyone else. Since the rest of the tailors can't see what competition snowleopard has, then we are really just making assumptions.

If I were forced into selling those items for that little, I'd either refuse (and sell less, but make more profit) or move. Like I said, I'm not going to try and psychoanalyze snowleapords rationality for this, nor defend snowleopard. I'm just going to say that snowleopard his his reasons. Whatever they are, they make sense to him. Maybe snowleopard doesn't care abouthis tailor brethern as much as many other tailors do. I doubt any of our critisim comes as a surprise to snowleopard, but one can hope.

That being said, I am no longer surprised by people that don't care about fellow brethern, or with the principles of economics. I can truly only control my ethical code, and business practice. It is up to me to adjust my business to fit my economy and my ethical pracitce. I'm tired of trying tohelp people see the light, and tired of having to battle theexcuse of "free market". There is a difference between free market and stupid market. So this will likely be my last post at trying to bring our profession together so that little people and big people can all compete concurrantly. I do care about my profession, as much as I care about the joy that I feel withthe growth ofmysuccessfull and challanging business.
