Thread: Question sent to the devs 4/20/04
In response to our December top 5, the devs wrote: We are aware that items that have reached 0/0 condition are still equippable, it is not suppose to work this way. We consider this issue a priority for your profession and we are working to resolve it.
This issue is particularly problematic because completely decayed items not only are equippable but alsostill grant full bonuses from bioengineered panels or from skill tapes when equipped. In addition, there is a concern that if items become unequippable at 0/0, people will purposely try to "fail repairs" to get the item to 1/1 so it will never reach 0/0.
The Tailoring Community wants to know what steps have been taken to correct this problem, what additional progress still needs to be made, and when the bug fix will be patched in.
1.Can we please get a schematic for the newbie scout vest (the one male scouts start with) and Leia’s slave skirt? Both items are in game already so no new art is required.
2.The cargo pockets that tailors craft are not useable as containers, though the ones that appear as loot are. Can ours be made so that they are useable as containers? Also can we get a schematic for satchels (another loot item that we cannot make)
3.Several items of clothing have White as the only choice on either color palette One or Two. Can we get this fixed? This Includes:
- Fighter Flight Suit
- Heavy Flight Suit
- Trader Flight Suit
- Transport Flight Suit
- Luxurious Gown
- Pleated Dress
- Light Bustier
- Ammo Bandolier
- Mercenary Bandolier
- Multipocket Bandolier
4.The two-strap bandolier has a really strange color palette (shades of terra cotta and peach?) Can this be changed to the leather color palette that the other bandoliers have?
5.On our top five list was a question about expanded color palettes for shoes, boots, and wookiee clothes. We were given a “super secret really cool stuff to come” answer and I would like to know how far away that “super secret really cool stuff” is? And can we have more information now?
6.There are many requests for more clothing using Reinforced Fiberplast Panels, especially shirts that require separate RFPs instead of stacks of factory made ones.
7.Can we please have a cloak with the hood up? I’m told one exists in game so no new art resources would be required.
8.Can we get a bug fix for the items are still equipable at 0/0 condition bug? And any chance we’ll be seeing use-based decay for clothing ever?
10. We would like to see improved labeling on clothing restrictions (gender, species, etc) Many items are unclear about whether male characters can equip them or not. Can we get this changed?

I have to vote for #8 (decay not working properly). It was important before and it is essential now with the socket nerf. It is a direct question with little wiggle room for an evasive answer (at least the 0/0 equip part -- I would add 1/1 too). It is also something that would be hard for them to say "no" to. For the developers to say no they would both be backing off their original assertion that we needed decay and people would point out that the decay on death system is useless without it (all it would do is double decay armor in that case). Having a direct answer that we can refer to on the public boards would give us something to refer to if nothing is done.

Yea. I would love to have those, especially the slave skirt! I don't think that the art really exists in the game, though. It only exists for Bothans (I have never seen it on a non-Bothan NPC), so the art would have to be done for all other races.
