Ok guys, I have real info on the Tailor Crafted Tatooine Tapestry, as I made them yesterday.

The Tatooine Tapestry Draft Schematic is a Single-use special schematic for crafting the Brown flag with 2 yellow circles that you can find around NPC Tatooine cities. The schematic is looted off of higher-end Tuskens like Warlords, Captains, and Chiefs.

To craft a Tatooine Tapestry you need a Structure and Furniture Crafting Tool, Structure and Furniture Crafting Station, and Field Wear 1 of tailor. Yes, it does not using the clothing tools.

A Tapestry requires:

30 units Metal

25 Unts Polymer

80 Units Fiberplast

You can create a Factory Schematic for the Tapestries and run them through a Structure Factory. They will come out in crates of 10.

When placed in your house, they are roughly the size of the Imperial Banner that you can get as a reward for the Bestine Elections.

When they are placed on a Vendor, they are in the Misc>Furniture category.

Anyone have any questions?

Thanks! I made them last night too! (I had to buy a factory to make them). I am still trying to get to the bottom of why it uses the wrong tool and factory. Its funny watching this giant facotry with its enormous crane cranking out these little tapestries.

Little Tapestries???

have you placed one in a house yet?

They are the full height of Tatooine Small House walls.

i lucked out. i have a very good Architect friend, so she let me use factory time to make mine. My guess is that since they are considered Furniture, and not clothing, that is the reasoning behind the factory and tool requirement.

I would not be surprised if they change to fall under the Furniture 1 skill instead of Field Wear.

I got lucky too, one of my cities architects has provided a factory and 2 of the city fighters have brought me 3 schematics already! So there is enough for everyone in Seaview and then some

The way i see it, technically, a Tapestry would be created by a Tailor. It is made of cloth. The metal is just for the rings that mount it to the bar across the top, as well as the bar itself.

Tailors, by profession, make more than clothing. they make all sorts of Fabric items such as curtains, sheets, blankets, ect, so it defintily would make sense that a flag-type of item would be crafted by a tailor.

but then also technically the tapestry is considered a piece of furniture, so the structure/furniture tool/station/factory requirements also make sense.

i'd like it if i could use my own factory to make them, but i do see where SOE was coming from when they decided what was required for it.

Me either, but just like it was on TC, it could be argued either way! I am hoping that now that it is live that they won't want to just take something like that away. I have to admit that this particular piece looks like something a tailor would make because it basically has no structural parts. Its a piece of cloth with a stick at the top to hang it from.

As I told my friends last night, they are one and a half Momokos high! They aren't the wall-filling style of tapestries that you find in castles, though.

it's hard to explain it, but have you noticed that the Center Point of the Tapestry is off?

drop a tapestry in a house and rotate it left or right 90 degrees and you'll see what i mean.

because of that, i couldn't use the normal decorators trick.

stand facing the wall, up against it, drop the item, move it forward 50, and it's automatically up against the wall as close as it can be.

I have two quesses on why the Tapestry looks and smells like an Architect schematic:

  1. The devs originally added the tapestry thinking it would be another Architect schematic much like the paintings and I guess the new Tanned Hide schematic is. However, then someone figured "Hey, those Tailors... they might get mad that we gave the tapestry to the Architects". So they changed it last-minute to be a Tailor item (which a Tapestry should be) but didn't change the rest of the mechanics behind it to match accordingly.

  2. Tailors don't have any items they craft that aren't clothes. As such, there isn't a category (think vendor listings) for Tailor items that the tapestry would fit in. So they could either a) add new catagory (probably viewed as too much work), or b) use the already-existing Furniture category. Now, maybe the game has things tied more closely together such that it decides what kind of tool and factory are used to make the item based on it's generic 'type'. So it seesthe tapestry classified as Furniture and goes "oh, this uses structure tools/factory/etc".

At least you don't have to worry about (meaningful) experimentation on it. My tailor friend said it offered do-nothing experimentation, but she only had 1 point to experiment with because she is not an Architect and thus has no bonuses to the Structure Experimentation skill. That would have really been a bad snafu if the quality mattered (thinkabout atapestry fading akin to the way the lamps in the game are supposed to die out after a while (even though they are bugged and never do)).
