Im getting close to my first 32k tailor xp, and Im still now sure which skills I want to go into. Not tailoring because I want the new schematics.

What would you say the best and worst parts about each discipline is?

I really like gowns and fancy looking clothes, so I picked formal wear as my first branch. The money, however, is in field wear. I'm sure that you've been asked for dusters or trench coats many times in the past. Casual wear will give you the ever-popular cloaks and bustiers at III, but you won't be recieving very many orders for items that fall in casual I and II. Any line (except formaybe tailoring)would make a perfectly good choice. In my experience, field wear has helped pay for the bills, but don't let that be your only deciding factor.

"Even a soft undershirt in a bright green or orange is a pretty unique item, and can fetch a better price."

Don't get your hopes up... as of end of Beta, we had a nice magenta and blue, no crimson, grass green, bright yellow, orange, or purple. No new colors granted at Master Tailor, though it seems there is a +55 to customization mod missing here.

I went up Field Wear first, then Tailoring line. Going Casual now. And yeah, the colors aren't great at Tailoring 4, but alot better than they were at Novice. Have a really good blue, a good red, and everythingother neat color is pretty pale.

I'm running up the Casual line myself. I like those schematics the best, and since I only wear what I can make, I want to make things I want to wear. =)

As for the various lines, here is my take on them:

Casual Wear: My favorite. The clothes are not fancy, but have an "everyday outfit" look I like... it reminds me of the way a lot of characters in the movies dress. Vests, nice jackets, dresses, footwear... I just like what comes from this line. However, Casual I has a pretty weak schematic line, which is why I think people are less likely to break into it. Nothing but footwear, gloves, and a few dresses. Nice stuff, but not much variety. Gets much better after that, and cloaks, one of the most highly demended items, are in this line.

Field Gear:A really nice line. Definitely appeals to a large number of people, since there are plenty of people who want to look militaristic, or at least tough. Nice hats early in the line, which is something lacking all through Dom Arts. Also includes dusters, which are probably the most demanded clothing item. This is also the most popular line for tailors to take, however, so the market is more flooded with these items than anything else.

Formal Wear: This is a nice line too, but might be overall a bit too froo-froo for the majority of male players. Great for females, however, and some of the designs are very unique. Not very popular with most tailors, either, so the market isn't saturated.

Tailoring: Far too overlooked. After Casual Wear III, I plan to go after a few levels here. People are getting sick of the same old' Black, White, Tan, Brown, Maroon, Pink, or Blue. Clothing designs aren't the only thing to make them unique. Even a soft undershirt in a bright green or orange is a pretty unique item, and can fetch a better price.
