Thread: Getting up the skillboxes?
Anyone got some tips about how gaining TXP fast enough? Do I gain UXP from items created from manufacturing schematics I gave someone? If so, how much? Over what timespan do clothingitems return UXP?
And just for the record, TXP requirements for the skillboxes == Teh Nutz! Especially for Tailoring Experimentation. DID YOU HEAR THAT RAPH? Heh.
you get UXP, but it's pretty slow.
sell a bunch of clothes, then sit and watch your tailor xp. it'll go up by one or two every once in awhile, but nothing that really helps.
the xp isn't really that bad, they dont want you to master any skill in a few weeks. i got from novice tailor to one skill box in about 3 or 4 days (granted, i was slacking too), add a day or so for the next box (its only 12k more for a level II skill, than level I).
pretty much, you can either grind out ribbed shirts foryour lifespan, or just make clothes that you just learned, and try to sell them on the bazaar / streets. it's a lot less monotonous, and you can make decent money too. even if people aren't buying, make 3 or 4, of some popular item. can't hurt to have extras.
only thing that sucks is, it takes quite awhile to reach synth cloth / reinforced fiberplast panels, so the armorsmiths will be sitting on their hands for awhile.
What I did to initially avoid the grind, and build up a customer base, was setup in a popular are and make clothes by order for free. I did that when I was still in DA, but I skilled up pretty quick, and now have more customers than I can handle. So if you don't want to grind, make free clothing fora day for everyone that walks by.
Ok, I made an observation about Usage TXP. IT IS A FREAKIN' JOKE!
Over ONE hour I went from 5055 TXP to 5057 TXP. As you see, with 5055 TXP w/o grinding I got a few items out (yes, 90% of'em sold rest still in bazaar). This is a joke. Geez! It seriously needs to be faster!
keyword, a few tailors.
not everyone is plowing up the skill boxes like a mad man. nor is everyone doing straight field gear.
i plan to do it till field gear III, then work on customization, and finish off field gear. IMO, getting more socketed items will be crucial to my items being sold over everyone elses, when the majority of tailors get up higher levels of tailoring ![]()

They're not sitting. There are a few tailors on my server that have specialized in Fieldwear. One of them's at FW IV already.
I'm moving up one tier at a time. More options to make. Working on tier 2 right now.
I don't get it. My UXP is awesome.
After getting Casual II I stopped crafting and sampled through the night.
Next time I looked at my screen I had 3800TXP in the progression bar. From not doing anything but sampling for 6 hours.
The reason is probably that I didn't start grinding Ribs until half way through Casual II. So I actually only made stuff that people use alot. You CAN'T GetUXP for ribbed shirts that you destroy.
)
UXP is supposed to be 150% And I believe it is. If Imake 10K TXP worth of clothes that poeple actually wear. I'd be getting 15K UXP within a few days. Unless the customersdestroy them within a few minutes or leave them unused in their inventory. Hopefully they pass them on for me to get more UXP ![]()

Get a house, get a vendor. Get dusters. Try to keep up with demand on dusters. Get many skill boxes. Be happy. Repeat when dusters sell out again.
I got a little over 30k xp the other day just restocking my vendor and selling dusters to people in the course of a few hours, and it wasn't really a grind since it was almost all made to order. Find something people like, have them spread word, offer discounts on entire wardrobes, you'll have repeat customers. I've had one guy come to me 4 times for a whole new wardrobe, he gets discounts now, and he brings friends. It's a nice conversational time, and I'm getting EXP doing so.
The first few boxes are a total drag though, since people just go "i want a duster" or "i wanta cloak", but when you get to those dusters/cloaks, you're both a) rich and b) popular and c) busy

Hm this is very true. I have the cloak line and decided to go up Tailoring 1 to increase colors. I made the 32k exp needed in a few daysalmost just bymaking cloaks(and selling them). The big drawback to cloaks are the big hide requirements.
