And don't say clothing because they don't go in any of the three socketed clothing items i have.

I've even tried crafting bone armor and putting them in as the bone segment and taht doesnt work.

I've seen a bunch o fthem and before I pay big money for them I want to be sure i can use them.

They are supposed to go in armor. They don't, because armor socketting doesn't work yet. It's a known issue the armorsmiths have brought up, but I've heard no eta on a fix.

You are correct, they don't go in clothes. The clothing skill enhancement items look like what tailors know as trim (a white ribbon on a black roll).

Although they are not limited to white. I had a red tape at one point. I thought maybe they were color coded to show that it could go in certain types of clothing. For instance, the red one did not go into a socketed belt ( which I was told, but couldn't confirm if the belt was socketed myself) , but it did go into a pair of gloves.
