Thread: Stats on clothes How much?
I'm a combat type, and am just now even hearing about the ability to get stats on clothes. I have plenty of money, but I need a little guidance on what to look for. Here are my questions:
1) What types of stats can you get on clothing? HAM bar? Support stats (strength/quickness/etc.)?
2) How much of each stat can you get on a piece of clothing? Does it depend on the type of clothing (shirt, vs pants)?
3) How many sockets can I reasonably expect to get in a good piece of stat clothing?
4) How much should I expect to pay for a high-quality, socketed piece of stat clothing.
I'd appreciate any advice here.
1. None right now (possible fix in the future)
2. Depends on specific type of clothing. Clothing needs to have sockets to load skill enhancers. Currently not all clothing, even higher level clothing, has the ability to have sockets. (possible fix in the future).
3. I'm at novice tailor, so I can only answer from my experience. Anything below 3 sockets is common. 3 is a little harder to get. Occasionally, when I get lucky, I get 4 sockets. I generally will charge a bit more for 4 sockets. Otherwise everything below is usually priced the same.
4.See 1-3

Let me clarify this a bit...
For artisan clothing, this is true. A person with Domestic Arts IV should be able to make all of the items in the Domestic Arts line with always 2-4sockets. However, once you hit Novice Tailor, the sockets all disappear. As you go up the Tailoring "technique" line, you get more sockets in your items. So far, I've gotten these results:
Novice Tailor, Tailoring I: Always 0
Tailoring II: About 45% 0, 50% 1, and 5% 2 sockets
Tailoring III, IV, Master - I don't have these yet, anyone want to give their views?
I usually charge 250 extra per socket if I'm specifically asked for a socketed item, (if it's a tailoring item as opposed to an artisan one.) The reason is because I'll probably have to destroy one or two before getting one that has a socket. And 1K extra isn't much on high-level items for a "perfect" 4-socketed item.
One oddity you can take advantage of, though, is that Rugged Jacket seems to behave as if it was still a Domestic Arts item with regard to experimentation and socketing. (I hope it doesn't behave that way with respect to XP too!)
Thanks,

Yes 1 skill enhancement attachment takes 1 socket. You can't put more then one of the same skill though.
You drag and drop the skill enhancehment onto the item of clothing with sockets in it. Yes they are permanent, and can't be removed from the clothing.
