Thread: Tiers in clothing: The list.
I have seen several posts that seem to ask questions that only matter if you don't understand the clothing tier/slot system. So I have decided to post a list of all the clothing slots and a brief explination:
The slots are:
Under Chest
Under Left Bicep
Under Right Bicep
Under Left Forearm
Under Right Forearm
Under Leggings
OverChest
Over Left Bicep
OverRight Bicep
Over Left Forearm
Over Right Forearm
Over Leggings
Cloak (*)
Gloves
Neckless
Hat
Bangle
Bracelet (**)
Feet
Backpack
Belt
Shoulder Strap
(* I figure this slot exists, because I have seen someone wear a smock on armor, but I've never run a male character and cannot verify this.)
(** I havn't exactly worked this one out yet. I know you can wear one wrist accessory... And I've herd you can wear 2 if they're different types, but this is unconfirmed.)
Now, different items take up different slots. For example, a soft undershirt uses all the Under upper body slots.A short sleeve jacket takes up all the Over upper body slots except for theforearms. The amusing 'can't wear cold weather gloves and any real coat' issue is caused by cold weather gloves taking up the glove, Over forearm, andUnder forearm slots. Since all coats (Except for the short sleve jacket, and maybe some coat over tier 1) are long sleve and consume the Over Forearm slots, they overlap, and thus you cannot wear them together. (I feel they should only take up the glove slot, but the designers felt otherwise.)
Finally, things like the grand healers gown take up almost every slot (From what I can deduce from the forums, it takes up everything but the Boot, Glove, and Jewlry slots.)
Hopefully this has been informative and will prove usefull. Maybe I'll make a site when I get to master (Some time around when the next ice age hits
) showing what slots each item takes up.
(Oh, and please correct me if I am missing a slot, or if something else is missing)
I can't wear a shoulder strap if I'm wearing a backpack.
Bangles go on one wrist, metal bracetlets go on the other. Not sure about higher level bracelets.
About smocks... They appear to take at least the Under Chest, Over Chest, and Under Leggings. At least, when I wear one, the pieces that fall off my armor are just the chest & legs are the only armor pieces that fall off, plus my undershirt comes off as well.
Question - is there really an over and an under of some of these? I've never had two legging-type items worn before, or the arm pieces...
I'm sure that there's an over and under for the arms, otherwise, you wouldn't be able to wear an undershirt (Under Forearms, Under Bicep, Under Chest)and armor peices at the same time. The legs, I'm not so sure about.
I guess this little post he taught me a lot as well.
In any case, if we keep it up we might have a final list with just the availible slots. That would be good, because then we could index it for use... ![]()

You know, now that I think of it, I think that the backpack and the shoulder strap slot are the same slot... Can't remember for sure... I'll check when I get on tonight.
They are. Shoulder straps and bandoleers cannot be worn while wearing a backpack. They take up the same slot. I'm not sure if thisis a bug or is as intended.
It would be nice to have Bandoleers that actually held some items. *grumble*
