Thread: Vandessa- Questions on decay on TS

Hiya Van, I was wondering if there was any more specifics on the new decay on TS.

As I understand it, despite popular request, they are doing the incap/death thing instead of anything resembling decay-on-use.

1) Has tailoring experimentation been brought back?

2) Does an item's durability and/or the quality of material used lessen the amount of decay suffered on incap/death? Or is it an even amount taken off all items? Have those of us using elite materials (oq and dr 900+ for durability) have been wasting our time?

3) Is this a temporary decay until they can find a solution to their database/item tracking issues for realistic decay-on-use?

I hope I'm not being too annoying. But I'm very curious and hoping for good news.

Nopers.

Right now, wasting time.

I'm not getting an answer on that yet. I think this is more of an overall means to make death more 'frightening' and to impose yet another money sink(though I think player cities is bad enough.. omg the money it costs!) There are many people who use death as a 'port' to a city and I think they are trying to stop that.

I think they also may be trying to encourage player cities, because if you are a part of a player city, your insurance fees will be lowered and other things like that. So they may be trying to stop players from dying like Vandessa mentioned as a means for instant travel, but also to encourage players to build and live in their own player cities.

I'm actually pretty angry about this. They floated that whole decay on death and incap thing awhile ago and our response was mostly negative. I don't think it will help much, since many of our customers rarely get injured. And the heavy combat folks will just stop wearing clothing or taking anything with them when they go out to fight or PVP. The reasons many of us don't like that decay idea is better explained in other threads, but despite our dislike of that form of decay and the many other great suggestions offered on the boards, they're going ahead with it anyway. Despite all the recent attempts to improve communication, I feel like they're still not listening to us very much.

I'm kinda feeling the same way about it.. But, I'm trying not to jump the gun, and wait to see what comes of it.. So far I'm very disapointed in what they seem to have come up with..

Thankies for the fast response Vandessa, very much appreciated!

Although I wanna give the dev's a spanking on ignoring us and choosing incap/death decay, I hope they make it so we can have our experimentation back to make more durable items!!

This wouldn't be so bad if only they brought back tailoring experiementation and have durablility of an item reduce the punch of the incap/death decay. But noooooooo... I feel so violated!

Even if we had experimentation, it would still be useless with this method. It's percentage based, so whether that shirt is 1000/1000 or 2000/2000 it's still going to poof in the same number of deaths. Are repair tools working any better on test, or is it like the weaponsmiths on live having a 25% success rate?
