Now, I'm not proposing that these have any impact on clothing items. We'd need a use-based non-percentage decay system before that could work.

What I am proposing here is that any item we make that another profession uses, such as fiberplast panels, reinforced fiberplast panels, synthetic cloth, and trim, should get experimentation back like the wookiee padding.

This increases the value of Tailors as we can sell factory crates and factory schematics for good prices if we get a good batch up.

It will not make more work for tailors who just produce clothing. This is a cookie for tailors that supply components to other professions, or who are dual-professioned and want to make a better product.

What would high quality synth cloth do for armour? If it increased integrity, base effects, etc, then you bet! The armoursmiths would drop tailor in a second and demand that only a mastor tailor with +20 points in their experimentation work on his synth cloth. For DE, maybe that would equate to better frames, or a merchant tent would have a lower maintenance....

That's a good attitude to have about it. It's not making more work for tailors who don't want to do it, it's giving extra value to people who can do full experimentation.

It also makes the tailor apron worth something for once.
