I'm about to enter a deal to be the sole component supplier for one of the largest armosmiths on my server and want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off and that I'm not asking for too much.
He wants batches of 1000 Synthetic Cloth, 1000 Reinforced Fiber Panels, and 1000 Travel Packs at least once a week.
He offered up the following based upon some convos between us:
1000 Synthetic Cloth for 100,000 credits
1000 Reinforced Fiber Panels for 140,000 credits
1000 Travel Packs for 300,000 credits
Is this comparable to what others are charging or would charge?

Well, that's what I charge for my components, so it sounds like a good deal to me. The travel packs are a little less what I charge per pack, but I also don't sell them in bulk. I'd appreciate the steady business. If you mine your own resources, it's a nice profit. Of course, prices do vary by server.

Thanks, some confirmation it sounds reasonable is what I was looking for. Now I feel better

Yeah, it comes out to about 6 c/p/u which should cover the factory and mining costs and give you a nice profit. Also, factories are much more cost-effective when they're working and not just sitting there.
I'm thinking of doing some component work to supplement my income as a wandering tailor, since it's easy to hire a merchant to sell it for you when it's standard boxes.

You might see if they will accept military packs instead of travel packs. I am pretty sure that they use less resources. This only helps if you have lots of access to cheap hides, though. I usually make these just because when I play my combat character I harvest hides to use for tailoring.

I would sub the travel packs for military packs. I usually sell these in bulk. CPU for these is less, even though it takes more hide. If you do the regular packs, you might just break even if you collect all your own resources.
As for the other stuff, that is about what I sell everything for for a nice profit.

1000 Synthetic Cloth for 100,000 credits (20 units = 5cpu)
1000 Reinforced Fiber Panels for 140,000 credits (30 units= 5cpu)
1000 Travel Packs for 300,000 credits (70 units?= 4cpu)
Overall, a bit low on the pricing, unless you have a steady supply of very cheap resources. I tend to buy mine from vendors/bazaar as I can't be bothered with harvesters. If I had to buy mine at 3cpu, and also pay power and factory costs, that would be too low for me.
On the other hand... I just load schematics in my guild factories. I tell the armoursmiths that they should load the input hoppers with enough resources and send me an email with waypoint when they are needing more, and I go grab the resources, make a schematic and start the factory for them. Only takes a few minutes and there is no hassle with transfers. Their crates are already sitting in the output hoppers.
My guild is very good about cross-class trades. I tend not to buy armour or weapons, and they don't pay for these schematics.
On my vendor, I charge 250k+ for a factory run of components, in a travel pack, ready to go. That's just for convenience and availability though.
