Thats the great thing about making your own shop...you can do it however you want! Be creative and it doesn't have to be like any other tailor shops. As you get going, you'll find certain things you may want to tweak to your likes and change for your or your customer's needs.

But if you make a shop that you plan to make known well in public, you need to make sure you keep your vendors well stocked and with a large variety of clothing. You can jsut look at what other players wear to get an idea of some of the hot items that sell well. You can also sell on the Bazaar to help get your name out....and include your shop wp in the description.

I've seen people have multiple vendors with different styles of clothing (ex. Formal wear, Casual wear, Mens wear, etc.) Its as many vendors as you need to organize. Another vendor separate for custom order pick ups is a good idea. That way the customer doesnt have to search through tons of clothing to find their order.

Hope these few tips helps ya out some! Good luck!

I think seperating your tailor vendors is a good idea. People can get tired of paging through one vendor and they may not see what goodies you have for sale at the tail end of the vendor. You can seperate into colors, or types of clothing. You can have gender oriented vendors or race oriented vendors. It's all up to you. As a tailor, I highly recommend getting master merchant. You have so many different items of clothing to sell that you will need all of the space and vendors that you can get. Plus, being able to dress your vendors and use them as display models is a huge plus.

Another good side business, as a tailor, that you can get in to is to make a vendor for selling tailoring components. Once you get your factories going, and get enough of them, you can sell crates of synthetic cloth panels, reinforced cloth panels, fiberblast panels, trim, etc. There are armorsmiths who would kill for a steady supply of synthetic panels. Chefs who would eradicate their mothers for a steady supply of trim. Lazy or busy tailors who would love to be able to buy some metal clasps and such without making factory runs themselves.

Good luck and hope things go well for you!

I just mastered Tailor a day ago. But I have no clue how to run a tailor shop.
Should I have multiple vendors for certain types of clothing?
Should I have 1 vendor with all the clothing?
Should I have 1 vendor, where I place orders so people can pick them up?

If I do make clothing and leave it on my vendor(s) for others to buy, how should I go about doing it? Just make any clothing and put it there? On a regular basis? Or just when I feel like it?

Any tips for a beginner?

I might stick with just two vendors. One would be the BE'd clothing, and the rest of the clothing in the other.

I would let 'shoppers' use the little submenu under "Clothing" to sort.

Currently I have three vendors. One for clothing, one for Wooks and one for components. With Ithies now I may add a fourth. But that set-up works well for me.
