I am so tired of getting 2 or no sockets!!! I have a chance to buy a tailor apron, but in the past it has been no help to a master tailor and just a waist of money. My question now is, with the new socket problem does it help at all? 350k is alot of money to spend on something that doesn't help or work properly so I just wanted some input before I went out and waisted that kind of money.

It does not help with sockets. As far as I can tell, its only real use is being able to get you half way to one extra experimentation point for the wookiee pillow.

Nothing helps with sockets that I have noticed.

Do you guys think this might be an issue for later. Should i buy it now before the dev's decide to make experimentation points relate to sockets or do you think it will be a waist of money?

Huge question, do you make alot of bio clothing? Do you make alot of crafter's aprons? I.E. expensive combines where a fail will definitely hurt your feelings? If so, then yes it is worth buying/making. Extra points in assembly are actually very helpful, saving in alot of wasted resources. If you don't, and hides are easy to come by for you, then don't spend the credits ( it'll take you quite a while to make the cost up).

I have a question about tailoring experimentation. Are there skill tapes for it? And if so, what advantages do you get from a higher experimentation? I'm assuming certain things like Transport Flightsuits get a logo color option and whatnot.

Yes there are Clothing Experimentation skill tapes. It effects one thing and one thing alone, "wookie pillows". It's the only item we can experiment on, a Master gets the normal 10 experimentation points, 11 when they get +10 to their clothing experimentation from tapes or items, 12 when they reach the magic +20 and thats the limit.

Assembly certainly does help. I use a +26 assembly outfit and rarely get critical fails. It actually goes upto +31 with my apron but anything over the 25 is useless which is a shame. Still I'd recommend any long term tailor to get hold of these tapes and one good piece of advice, wait until you've got your +25 in tapes before you actually put them in an outfit.

Now if they would just fix the repair system so my repair tapes worked then my outfit would be almost perfect, +31 assembly, +17 (for now) experimentation & +17 repair.

No kidding. I so wish I had done this. I'm pretty much going to start over if I decide to actively stay in tailoring. I have +18 atm and would be impossible to hit 25 in that outfit. You know what they say though, live and learn.

Yeah, I was lucky, managed to get a +6 & +11 assembly tape from trade forum auctions. The +11 only cost me 250k! A real bargin!!

No, no, no. You can only put one tape for each skill type in each piece of clothing. My +11 is in my Refined skirt, +6 in my Lekku wraps, you've just gotta keep an eye on what tapes you get otherwise you end up with more tapes than you can use at once and then have to get more even higher ones to make you upto the limit. I made that mistake with my Dancing outfit. Got to about +10 mind enhancement before I had no more items left to put tapes in, well no more items I wanted to wear I refused to wear a belt with that outfit!

For a tailoring outfit there's 2 types of tapes you want, 3 for when they fix repairing. Assembly, Experimentation and Repair. Once items at 0 condition are made useless in whichever publish it comes in then repairing is going to be something requested much more than now.

So you can have more tapes that adds to the same skill in the same clothing? I tried this once, and the clothing ate the second one I installed, only giving me bonus from the first one. The attachments were identical though, dont know if that has something to do with it?
