I can not find this in the FAQ, so please don't be mad. What are the machines that people have in their houses that they use to craft and such? I am not talking about the small crafting tools, but sometimes I go in people's house and they have the big black crafting machines. What are these and how can I get one?

My second question is, what purpose does a clothing factory serve? Do you get more xp for using one or is it just to make clothes in quantities?

Thanks!

I believe that you are refering to a Clothing and Armor Crafting Station (but there not black...). Anyhow, you need them to make higher level tailoring skematics. It should say on your skematic list if you need a Personal Crafting Station (or is it a Specialised Crafting Station?).

A factory can be used for clothes (some people do runs of Black Gunman's Dusters ), but most often they are used to make components (e.g. This skematic requires 3 Synthetic Cloth from a Factory Crate [<-- comes from factories]). It dosn't give you XP (used to, but was nerfed before my time ).

Thanks!

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the madness.

Oki. Those big, ugly things that we cherish are called Clothing Crafting Stations (not tools). The higher the rating on the station the better. Just starting out, do not be too worried about the quality though. You obtain these from Architects. You can also get Droids that have Crafting Stations in them. Either way, be sure you are specific that you need a "clothing" one when you order. Once you reach a certain level in Tailor, you will find that some schematics require a "personal crafting station" to make the items. That is what these are.

If you look in your Data pad and see something to make, but do not see it when you open your tool, you are either at the stage where you need to be at a "public" one of these (in a city) or you need the private ones. The schematic does tell you which.

Factories... these do not offer additional xp. In the beggining, you do not need one of these, unless you plan on selling crates of cloths to supplement your income. I only reccomend doing this IF you have a surplus of materials. Again, as you get further into Tailor, you will come across schematics that require "Identical" cloths in the same slots, instead of similar ones. These "identical" ones are the ones that are crated and must be made in a factory.

That's just the bare basics of a factory, of course you can use it to make multiple item runs but not if you are looking for xp. Be prepared, Tailor is one of, if not the only profession where almost Everything is made by hand.

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

I have one more question.

Do you get less xp for the items you make as you level up? ex. if you get 30 xp for an item at novice, do you get less than 30 xp for that same item after you have advance in your skill boxes?

I know XP is based on the amount of resources consumed in the crafting process. But what is the exact XP to unit consumed ratio?

It's not exact, but I believe that it's wroughly 2 XP per 1 unit of recorces.
