Thread: No one wearing clothes any more?

There is a change on TC that puts a 10 second delay in to equip a piece of armor. So a 90 second delay to equip a suit of armor. Why does this affect tailors? Well for one, it is already bad enough that everyone wears comp armor but after this change I think they will be wearing it all the time. The other problem is say you are wearing a councilman robe. Put on a piece of armor and you're standing there with once piece of armor on and no clothes.

Most AS think this is a dumb idea but I think it is actually much worse for the tailors.

accually i dont think that would be too bad, besides armor is getting a rebalance soon, so everyone will not be wearing full sets of composite soon.-composite is the main armor getting changed, im tired of seeing so many wearers of this ugly armor.

alot of people dont even wear armor at all, i wear gloves and boots. but thats it.

this also means we will be half nude while changing armor to cloths though lol

Most combat professions wear armor while in combat. With the combat rebalance coming combat will be even harder which will mean pretty much everyone will have to wear armor in what ever form it takes. But who is going to take it off when, at 10 seconds delay per piece, it takes 90 seconds to put it back on.

This is a silly idea. I can see the possible reasons behind it...but. Does the timer only apply to times when you are in combat? That might make sense.

No. It applies all the time. It's extremely annoying.

Is there a stated reason for implementing this delay?

I'm sure the new ideas get more silly every day.

Maybe the devs think we want to see more flesh in-game? Hmm semi-naked, half-armoured characters is not why I play SWG!

The change was fixed yesterday to how it was intended to be from the start—it's better now, but still not great. Weapon and armor equipping is treated as a 5 second special—you double-click one and it will equip, then you have to wait 5 seconds to switch weapon/equip the next piece of armor. This is still bad for us in terms of making it less desireable to doff armor, but at least if you equip your armor intelligently you aren't forced to nudity anymore.

Also, you will be moving based upon weapons being held and armor worn. So this is the counter side to this. It shows that the Dev's are at least thinking about other professions now (yes even us tailors that seem to be the guy from goonies locked up in the back room where even though we moan and shout they just ignore us and act like we arn't there.... i digress)

With the addition of armor and weapons affecting terrain negotiation we will see one of two things. 1- Vehicles/Mounts will become a REQUIREMENT to move as people will still keep armor on all the time or 2- People will start to buy more clothes due to having to take off armor to run around.

lets just hope for the later

It's sad they have to put a silly change in like this, but I'm sure the reasoning behind it makes sense. People were abusing armor by being able to throw it on quickly before battle and taking it off quickly to regen ham faster. They should also justlet you wear more clothes under armor (I'm sure socketing is what stops that). But honestly, whoreally goes commando under armor? /shudder
