Thread: Sockets could fix Tailor if the devs wanted them too

An easy fix to significantly uplift tailors would be to remove sockets from armor and only allow clothing to be socketed. In order to be fair to those whom have already spent small fortunes on armor attachments the devs could easily grandfather existing items that are enhanced but remove sockets from all armor that does not already contain an attachemnt. In this way if some wants protection they use various forms of armor. If they want skill mods then they incorporate socket clothing. The numbers of sockets should be determined by level of mastery in tailor such as 1-1-1-1 gets 1 socket, 2-2-2-2 gets 2 sockets, 3-3-3-3 gets 3 sockets, and 4 sockets come at Master. I don't know how easy it would be to implement but I think Tailors would be given a significant function in game relatively quickly were this change made.

What do you all think?

I like the idea but then we become an impediment to those who want to be uber and other crap. But wth let's change it anyway b/c then no one will ever go to any tailor unless it's a master so the tailors will enter Tell Hell.

I think sockets should be based upon the assembly skill of the tailor. Then you can get skill tapes to get an exceptional socketed item.
