You don't have a vendor at all you could have used as a go-between...? just curious...

OMG! I'm so sorry that this happened to you! I wonder why people feel it nessecary to be a$$hats in the gaming world. Anyway, I've had many so called 'friends' ask me to put them on admin in my guild hall where I keep my shop when the trade bug keeps us from being able to trade. I politely say NO, and offer them to my vendor instead. My own brother doesn't even had admin to my guild hall. Not that I don't trust him but the less people on it the better. If all my maint comes up missing then I know who to blame! lol I just don't trust people easily especially because I know how people can be. So I do know what its like to be scammed, I just hope you learn from it. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, fortunately nothing bad has come of giving admin to an overt, but I've had to do it before. One tip that I can give you is to use /setpermission admin xxx which toggles the permission on and off without visiting the terminal (I may have the exact syntax wrong, but... something like that). But half the time I say "too bad, so sad, find someone to kill you".

Sometimes I think there's something about Bria where we have this amazing collection of some of the biggest jerks in the game. Seriously. I had something not so dissimilar happen to me where I had my vendors in a guild hall. I made a pet for a guildie for free and I put it on the floor of the guild hall because I didn't want to charge him for it or risk someone stealing his pet. I was very clear about which pet I made for him.And the next thing I know *all* pets I had on the guild hall floor were stolen (I usually kept what I'd call "oddities" on the floor to display: i.e. creatures where really odd things happened during experimentation creating often times rediculously overpowered pets).
Then the other night I was trying to run some imperial themepark missions with a friend and we were griefed by this loser overt rebel who just camps that place. How lame is that? grrr. I don't know what it is about Bria...

My greetings,
My apologies for the off-topic post. Knowing full well that many of you do not play on Bria, I'd like to share this with the professions of SWG.
What I'm about to tell you was stupid, was idiotic, was something that many of you will think to yourself, "Good lord, man, you should have known better." And you'd be right. Why am I sharing this with you? Because I want to remind everyone of the wide assortment of real life personalities that exist in SWG. That, while a game, SWG has real people that populate the servers. Most of those people are quite friendly, courteous individuals. Please take what you will from this story. I know I certainly learned a lesson.
Someone I considered an in-gamefriend came to me asking for some schematics to help him master Armorsmith. My alt has the necessary tailor skills to craft the cloths he needed and, being a friend, I agreed to make the schematics.
While waiting, I chatted with a guildmate. It wasn't long before he showed up at the shuttleport and we attempted a trade, realizing at this time he was an overt imperial and I was a neutral. Not a problem, we'll go to my house, I'll give him admin access, he can drop the necessary resources, I'll craft the schems, log my imperial character and trade the schems throughhim.
Why did I think this was the best method? The player I considered a friend plays on dialup. Rather than trading through the imperial character twice, it seemed more expedient to allow him admin access to drop the resources and trade through the imperial character only once.
Upon arriving at my house, he began to look around. I have a fairly nice collection of paintings on the wall, a few moderately rare items on display including a force crystal and an ATST suit. I was rather proud of my little collection. It wasn't anything to rival some of the museums on Bria, but I thought it was rather nice. As a rather new player, naturally I assumed he was checking the place out. Little did I know, that's exactly what was happening.
The guildmate I was speaking with earlier dropped by needing a Swoop and, him having all the resources on hand, I was more than happy to help him out. I prefer to keep to a line of sorts, wanting to finish up with my friend's schematics before crafting the Swoop. After a few minutes of him running around, me trying to get him to drop the resources, him asking what resources, me looking it up in the crafting tool, he said he had to log. Well, okay then. I'll do it when he get's back.
In the basement of my Tatooine house, I keep my crafting stations. I and my guildie run downstairs and I whip uphis Swoop (59% durability, bah) run upstairs and, for the first time realize that just about everything of any rarity in my house was gone.
Did I send him a tell? Absolutely. In fact, I admit I used words the forums regularly edit out. I even got a response. Except for the curse, verbatum:
- "ya i kinda actd like a--hole"
- "well g'luck"
- "/tiphat"
I'm not going to ask people to shun thaed stormlight. I'm not going to ask people to grief him. In fact, I want nothing more from this post than to remind everyone that real people inhabit our fictional world, that every personality imaginable exists within it's electronic borders. My thanks to you for reading this lengthy post. Good luck and May the Force be with you.

Its not just Bria believe me. I know for a fact that Eclipse has the WORST griefers and losers. LOL And I'd also guess they have the MOST too! hehe

Sorry to hear that Athme-esh, but thanks for sharring. I have been put on alot of admin lists and I request that people take me off most of the time. I don't want to be even considered if something goes missing. I have a friend on Corellia where I have a vendor in his house and I am always affraid that he will be sending me an email asking if I know what happened to this or that. Sucks when idiots ruin it for us honest people.

I had a pet deed go missing from a city store as well, stupid thing was it was a level 3 advertising cat! Was just there to let people know I had BE pet decorations in my vendor. Sadly the old owner of the store had given admin to everyone in the city, not just those with vendors. Strangly enough I refused to keep my clothing vendors in there because I wanted to do displays and didn't want them walking.
That's why when I opened the new Seaview mall I told everyone only me and my alt would have admin. Residents could be given admin to place their vendor but then it would be removed. Nobody has had a problem with this so far and nothing has gone missing
If an overt comes in wanting clothing I offer it to my crates and misc vendor in a backpack with their name on, luckily most of my customers are polite enough to go covert before coming to see me.

If it's any consolation to anyone, every server has their share of "gems"
I shared a Mall with a few people, when one person was added to the admin, they immediately took everyone but the item creator off the admin list and looted the place...fortunately that time the Devs were ale to sort it all out.
Friends of min had the exact same thing happen with the exeption that this person not only looted the mall and removed all but the owner from the admin list; but he quickly dropped out of the guiled and banned everyone from the guild from entering. The owner of the structure never came online (he just kept paying the bill and would check in every once in a while.)
I don't even want to get into the personalities of some of the people I've met online...needless to say their personalities could shatter planets more efficiently than any Death Star.
