Thread: Buffed clothing ins and outs...

I am aspiring to be smuggler -- at least for now. I have reached Apprentice Gunfighter and I'm making my way up the unarmed ladder. To be honest, I am a bit unfamiliar with how armor and clothing will fit into my current style of play.

I have a set of mibari (sp?) armor but in all honesty, it will really only benefit me if I whip out my gun and right now, I am having a little fun with unarmed. Can someone please explain...

1. What factors in a buffed piece of clothing would help most in unarmed combat?

2. What advantages or disadvantages will buffed clothing provide over armor?

3. Where in the Corbantis Galaxy can I find a tailor skilled in crafting buffed clothing?

I am based on Corellia but would be willing to travel to get something that might benefit me. I also wouldn't mind an outfit that is a little less...well...rustic. I'm still wearing my cloth shirt and crafters pants I started with as an engineer.

If you are interested in a sale, please send Draevyn a /tell or email and possibly we can work something out. I've dumped about 22K on weapons in the last couple of days so its about time I tended to defense as well. Depending on time in the game this weekend, it may take a day or so to earn the travel money and cost of clothing so be patient.

Hi Dorsai,

I can make buffed clothing, I'm near Theed on Corbantis (coords in sig)

Disadvantages are no defense.

Advantages are everything else

I could make you something like.. a set of shirt, pants and bandolier with around 18+ to bleeding defense?

I can also do intimidation/warcry, stun/melee defense and other things.. just look me up in game.

What other items might you have for the aspiring smuggler? I have reached Pistol IV and almost finished my Unarmed IV but I don't see myself using a lot of armor until I start getting onto the battlefield. Still, I wouldn't mind a change of wardrobe so I can get out of this crafter / farmer look. Does your vendor contain a pretty good sample of what you have to offer? Also, do you take special orders and can any arrangements be worked out if I can provide some resources? What do tailors normally use that they cannot craft themselves?

I will most like be on Naboo later today. I need to check out the weapons stores and I'll see about getting to your shop. Do you have a vendor? If not, I will send you a tell when I hit Theed.

Thanks.

I'm sure velveeta has a a tailor because velveeta is a master tailor. You should find a million things on V's vendor so just go out there and enjoy

Curious, if you have a socketed item, how do you add the buffs?

Same way you use a weapon poowerup you drag it and drop it on the clothes.

When in tailoring do you get more of a chance to buff clothes? Is that in the Tailoring Experimentation Tree?

All a tailor can do is get a chance of adding sockets (1-4 sockets) They become common as you get higher in the tailoring tree. It depends on the item when you'll start making these but I know that at a lil over half to filling FIeld Wear II if youmake low Domestic Arts items(ie leather gloves wookie hoods etc) you'll start getting them.

The buffs are seperate gems or something (haven't seen one yet) you get off of NPCs as drops they ad a + to just about every possible skill or stat as far as I know. Highest +'s I've heard of are in the +7 to+9 range.

And haw can you buff a Travel Pack? Because when you drag the buff on it, it falls into the Travel Pack... :-/

I heard being able to put them into the sockets on the travel packs is bugged. Anyone else know? Also, I've heard that the only power-ups that can be put into the socketed clothes are the ones that look like a spoon of tape. The ones that look like square plates are supposed to be able to go into sockets in armor(whicn are non-existent to my knowledge). There are also gems. These are more rare by far I believe. Maybe they can go into both sockets? Like I said, this is just what i believe to be true. Feel free to correct me anybody.

Also, any Master Tailors on Bloodfin want to give me their names? I'm looking for clothes that can give me +'s to pistol skills. My in-game is Ji'ho

Sorry I didn't reply earlier Dorsai; yes I have a vendor, but I'm going to be away on business for a couple of days, so it may get a little low. If you see something you're interested in, drop me an email and I'll make it for you when I get back.

You don't use sockets and it's nothing to do with experimentation.. I have a guide on how to do it on www.swgtailor.com.
