If you are a tailor, do not take up armorsmithing, else you will lose your ability to create any armor piece or clothing piece that requires a crafting station.

doh, was about to get Master Tailor tomorrow... Good thing I dont have any skill boxes in armorsmith except novice, and I have enough gcxp to retrain that a few times over.. Maybe you should consider dropping MT, then you'd only need Apprentice xp to get it back and it may fix the prob

I hope there isn't any other mix of professions that causes that to happen.

I thought about that, but it sounds like no matter what, it will not be possible to have master tailor and armorsmith. I may just drop master tailoring so I can make all level IV items... but maybe the Devs will see this thread and it will be fixed soon.

I wonder if any of the Master Armorsmiths are broken by taking up Tailoring so they don't have to bother dealing with us.

Dunno if it works the otherway around or not, know of any master armorsmiths that can take up tailoring to test the bug?

I know a master armorsmith who has up to field wear 3 so no it does not go the other way. Just master tailor with a bit of armorsmith.

I would think that this would be an easy fix... but I have been unable to talk 1 to 1 with CSR or even get a response about the bug.
What does everyone think I should do? I have Chitin I and Deflectors III from armorsmithing. Should I drop armorsmithing or wait it out? I’d hate to lose all of that XP because of the only known work around to this bug is to drop an entire skill. :\

Can anyone else confirm this is happening? I'm pretty far up both trees... (Casual III, Field IV, Deflectors 3, Chitin, Experimentation IV)... And I have no plans on giving any of it up.

It's a known bug, do a couple of searches and you should find some posts. The bug has been around from beta from what I hear. Wish they would fix it.

I got hit with it. CSR had the response I figured. Nothing we can do about it. =/

I am going Master Armorsmith first so it will take forever to get to Master tailor (and maybe will be fixed by then) but this is depressing =(. Armorsmith is something I do to contribute to my PA and friends, but Tailor is what I wanted to do for myself for fun *sigh* It seems inexcusable that they would not have fixed this, surely armorsmith and tailoring make a pretty common sense combination, you think they would have taken care of this. /cry

Seems they won't help, there goes 90 hour of game play. Going to drop my armorsmithing (Chitin I an dDeflectors III) today so I can at least play the game as intended. What fun is it to play a Master Tailor who cannot make any item required by a crafting station. That is nearly 90% of my sales. /pout
