Thread: Why Do Clothes Sometimes Disappear...
I have never had this happen to me and know that if they re-log the clothes will show up, which they re-log and the clothes re-appear.
Does anyone know what causes this to happen and is there a way to prevent it? Any comments or suggestions is greatly appreciated
I'm not positive, but I heard it may have something to do with the server boundaries. I think this is kind of how it works, please correct me if I am wrong. There are several servers that store the data for a single planet so as you travel, you receive info fromdifferent servers. A customer will leave your store shortly after getting the new item, they cross a server boundary, the database doesn't immediately pass the new inventory information to the new server. Items will reappear when you re-log and also sometimes if you just wait long enough. I also heard that if you cross the server boundary again they will appear.
Why do clothes sometimes disappear
Every time I leave here?
Just like me,
They long to be
Close to you....
it happens to my customers a lot since i'm near a server boundary. if their items disappear, just have them log out, wait until their char leaves the server, then log back
if they want to prevent it, do the log in/out process in your shop.

That confirms it, it's a new bug, probably brought on by some recent 'fix'. Never had problems before, but yesterday, every single one of my customers (after leaving my shop) said something along the lines of, "Hey I think your clothes are buggy, I'm naked". In every single case, logging out and back in solved the issue, but it's bloody annoying.
About a week ago they posted some pictures of server population density that the devs use. They said in this articlethat this info is used to adjust server boundaries to keep one server from becoming overloaded. Based on this I'm guessing that server boundaries change quite a bit in some areas. It's possible that one of these adjustments caused your tailor shop to be on a boundary.
That's certainly an interesting possibility Tressa.. any idea how to tell where the server boundaries are? I *think* one clue is when you're walking along with your pets following.. and they suddenly stop for no reason. At least that's what I've always assumed, my pets always stop around a particular area..
If that's the test, then I'm sure there's a server boundary about 200m from my house, on the way to the nearest town (Coronet)..
