Thread: What To Do With Returns When BE Is Fixed?

I have a feeling that when BE elements are fixed alot of people that have bought clothes from me in the past will want to return their old clothing in replace for new BE clothes.

Has anyone else thought about this yet...and if so, how do you plan on handling the returns?

Personally I wouldn't be so generous as to offer refunds unless someone is seriously unhappy with their clothes, not because they want something new. Then again, BE clothes will be very costly so if you wanted to be nice I suppose you could offer them a discount on the BE clothin equal to the value of the clothing they wish to return.

I only accept returns if it's within a day or so of the sale. If someone has been wearing your clothes muchlonger than that then they've been getting use out of them. I wouldn't take a return just because the person wanted an upgrade to something with BE tissues.

Me personally I'll just tell them they have to buy new clothes. So far I've only had two customers I wouldnt have a problem exchanging them with since they are steady regular customers.

I'm just wondering what to charge for BE clothes. I got some constrictor cloth to try out, and now some guy wants me to use it in clothing--I have no idea what to pay for this stuff or what to charge! I will probably charge TONS just because I had to pay a lot for the cloth...but still.

10-25k per tissue? wow, you've got the wrong supplier then, lol. If you were on my server I'd help you out. I doubt I will probably charge about one-tenth of that price.

And as far as returns, eh, probably won't offer them. Of course I say that but rarely so "no" to a customer, especially if they are a good one, lol.

BE tissues are going to be expensive. VERY expensive. This will be a whole other side to my tailoring. Regular clothing on a vendor, BE clothing by special order. With BEs charging 10-25k per tissue, and most items requiring more than one (factory crated), people will be spending big on this. No, I won't take returns. Not because I'm mean, but because I have a feeling those clothes are going to be harder to sell once tissues arrive properly working!

I see this as an opportunity to really revive the tailoring industry. I have 3 guild BE's that I can cut a deal with, but I certainly wont be charging rock bottom for these items. I may brepare my facotry crates of Synth and RFP with a variety of Bio's ahead of time, just so the customer doesn't have to wait, but I might now be able to make as much money as an armorcrafter, instead of people haggling over a 3K item.

I am not sure how you can come up with 25k per tissue, the max I would ever pay would be like1 or 2k. Anyway the question I have is with the higher end BE components. I haven't tried anything past tissue engineering 2 and was wondering if anything changed on the better versions of the lower end compoennts. For example, I am a wookie and I want Bleed Protection but the restrictor cloth that I can use right now can only be used with Reinforces Fiberpanels. The problem is that there is only one wookie item that I can make with Reinforced and it erases the bonus when combined into final product. Is the higher end tissue by chance able to be used with synthetic cloth? If not then they need to take a better look at wookie clothing and maybe make the crested bpadding made with reinforced and the regular bpadding made with synthetic. Just my two credits worth anyway.

I'll have it made if people start charging high prices for enhanced clothing since my cousin is going for BE.

Just thought of that./

Wryll,

FYI, the tissue 3 and 4 BE components are mostly improved versions of the level 1 and 2 schematics. Generally +10 to +15 when made by a master BE versus +3to +5 for the lower ones. Considering some garments take multiple mods, the difference will be quite dramatic. Long term, you'll probably have as much chance selling the low end gear as you would selling a CDEF pistol, and probably wont meet demand on the high stuff.

Some of the high-end BE tissues require ingredients that are currently near-impossible to get in good quantities (milk, mollusks, eggs, fish). In those cases, the lower-end tissues may be more realistic if you're planning to order more than a few tissues at a time.

Actually - that's not true, and something that's miffed a ton of bio engineers cause they saw it coming.

Tissues stack. If you have a recipe that needs 6 identical cloth - you WANT the lower end stuff - cause the cap is 25. Many bios have argued since release that this diminishes their value as master.

The lower end bonuses are both cheaper to make - and much EASIER to make.

The higher end ones should be reserved for pieces that only require one or two individual pieces of cloth to maximize potential bonus on a garment.

Yes, I know they aren't stacking now - that's a bug - they are SUPPOSE to stack.
