Some people just amaze me.. he is seriously lacking intelligence (which shows in his speech, grammar and spelling) but his ignorance is beyond any stretch of the imagination (as in misinformed, not rude.. which he also is) .. it makes me groan to think I share a galaxy with him.

I sure hope he tries to become a master tailor, which I seriously doubt. But assuming he really does it, we'll see how he enjoys making 2000 flesh wraps a day for 3k each, on top of daily surveying, sampling, harvester runs and managing of factories.

I'm so sick of all these complain-about-clothing-prices threads. You don't see people complaining about high prices on armor and weapons nearly as much, because there are more weaponsmiths and armorsmiths in the game. The relative scarcity of master tailors contributes to the high prices, that whole supply-and-demand concept. I had someone tell me the other day that I was the most expensive Tailor they'd seen. While this may have been possible, it certainly doesn't mean that 1) I'm the most expensive Tailor, 2) my prices are out of line. And the bottom line is, she bought the clothes from me anyway. If my prices are that outrageous, don't buy the clothes. Otherwise, don't complain. (BTW, this was with a 25% off guild discount.)

I'm goinig to laugh heartily when all these people want the fancy new BE-enhanced clothing after the Big Patch(tm), and then gawk at the prices.

i think he needs to stick to his weapon smith and make pistals and just give all his money to the arcitechs and not worry about cloths!

I can say on Tempest wooly is selling for 7-8k a unit - what do they expect to pay when they want the cash for hunting but cheap clothing after making the money.

A no win scenario.

That's exactly the problem Jawa - they want what a tailor produces - but to them it has no 'value' since their world is restricted to how much damage do I do - or how much damage can I keep from being done to me.

BE mods are going to change all that - and you might be surprised, you've stepped into their mode of thinking, tailors may just all of a sudden get a sudden flush of respect.

I think I felt a few brain cells die trying to decipher that....

It's a shame people like that have to spew on the forums.

One point he brought up stands out - About Architects and pricing. Architects are in a bad way BECAUSE of the rampant unchecked undercutting. Not because it's a "reasonable" price.

I'd hate to see Tailors go down the same road. Not because I want a fortune (I mean really, what would I spend it on?) but because my prices reflect MY hard work getting to Master, and MY time spent harvesting, sampling, stocking and informing repeat and potential customers. I don't "slap items together" and "throw them on a vendor" to be forgotten about. I like to work with people to make sure they're getting *exactly* what they want. That's a lot of my time, and a lot of my effort. To me, it's worth something.

The complete ignorance of that guy's statements just astound me.

It sure is nice to know that we don't have schems that require specific resources. Those schematics that say they need "tatooine wooly hide" or "titanium aluminum" are just kidding. Apparently, we can use any old "wooly hide" and it will work in our crafting tools.

It's nice to know that someone so ignorant of how tailoring works thinks that he can set prices better than those of us who know what we're talking about. I know we never agree on how to set up our pricing structures. But at least when discussing pricing with fellow tailors the person on the other end knows something, anything about our craft. I especially love the assertion that those of us charging higher prices are "part time tialors" thatcharge high prices because we buy all our materials from the bazaar (apparently, we're too stupid or lazy to buyand operate harvesters).

But my favorite, favorite part of his little rants is the idea that he's going to grind up tailor just to sell master level clothes for cheap. Talk about having too much free time andtoo manyskill points...
