Thread: Tailor wish list items sent to the art team (besides schematics)
I wanted to share another piece of the document I sent to the SWG Art Director a couple of weeks agothat is relevant to tailors. This was part of the summary I did from the "Art Team: What Women Want" thread as requested by him. Some of you may remember I started a thread here to get specifics on what people were thinking when they said they wanted a dressing room type gadget. Please keep in mind that Imerely summarized several pages of wish lists (some of which were relevant to tailors), this is not my personal wish list and I tried to be as unbiased as I could in preparing the document. It is up to the art team and other devs to decide what is doable or allowable, and how soon it is doable. There were also some sections relevant to merchants and architects that would affect tailors if ever implemented such as shop designs, mannequins, and shop furniture. I just felt you should all know some items that have made it to a dev's eyes (Jake Rodgers, SWG Art Director).
Misc Tailoring
·GUI - Add coloring number system – Issue: Very difficult to match clothing another tailor has made; Solution: In examine window for clothes, have it note using numbers which colors were used; Have number pop up when mouse is held over color palette
·Full 255 color palette for leather items - All wookiee clothes are leather; Very hard to match gloves, boots, dusters, cloaks, hats, belts & other hide-crafted accessories to cloth palettes; Two-strap bandolier only comes in shades of peach
·New Colors - Master tailors say they have no true yellow, teal, or pure red, and that many items cannot be made in pure black (see simple vest) or white (see muscle shirt); Tailors would like many of the dingy colors removed and more bright colors added, or just more bright colors added.
·More textures – Slick Darth Vader pleather look; Satin; Crushed Velvet; Silk; Fur trimmed clothes (like scout jacket); Metallic; Glittery
·More patterns – Plaid; Polkadots; Pinstripes
·Holo-imager – For Tailors – Vendor would have an option to allow customer to see how they would look while wearing the selected item
·Ability to sell a group of clothing as an “outfit” on vendor/bazaar - Tailor would choose “outfit” option and be able to put an outfit’s worth of clothing for sale as an entity; Clothing could still count individually for bazaar count; Many tailors take great time and effort putting together outfits that get bought up seperately or not noticed.
·Decals – Of swg objects to be pasted on chest or back of clothing
·Special dyes - Rare drop glowing dyes, glittering dies, transluscent fabric

This is great news or at least great ideas that could be.
My personal favorite is the outfit idea. It would be a huge help when selling items on the bazzar.
I'm not sure if this has ever been mentioned, but it would be nice if wearing the various twi'lek headwear didn't force the lekku into a particular arrangement. I'm assuming that the artwork just doesn't exist for the various lekku arrangements + the headgear. We only have what, 8 possible arrangements-this might give twi'lek's more reason to visit the image designer more often for a change of looks.
As it is now, the only time anyone sees my '1 forward, 1 behind' lekku arrangement is when I'm not wearing any headpiece (ie. very rarely).
The wrap forces both lekku behind while the other pieces all force both lekku forward.

The Lekku wrap should not affect the lay of the lekku at all... some of the other headgear does call for a specific way for the lekku to sit. I'm at work right now, so I can't visualize all the twi-lek headgear, I think the bone crest should probably leave the lekku un-touched, can't think of all the rest.

Currently the lekku wrap forces both lekku back, and the bone crest forces them both to the front. I'm not sure about the others since I can't make them yet. It's very frustrating, because my favorite style is one in front and one behind, but I can't wear any headpiece with that style.
Of course, I'm still slightly annoyed that we can't style our own lekku. I don't want to step on image designer's toes, but lekku are supposed to be prehensile. It makes sense that not everyone would have the ability to style their hair or give themselves a haircut, but it's silly that I can't grab my own beautiful lekku and pull them ahead or behind me.
OK, I can't believe you didn't ask for this. Why can't women carry a purse?
There's a perfectly good Purse model. There's no reason why it can't have the shoulder strap lengthen to go over the left shoulder, and have the satchel "ride" at the left hip. Have this fill the backpack slot on the character, and carry the same 50 items a backpack does.
These would sell so freaking fast our heads would spin, you betcha. And if it was colorable, we could probably sell multiples.
This isn't my personal wish list, it's what I summarized from a very long thread. Purses came up often, and were actually included in my document, stickied at the top called something like "New Tailoring Schematics Wish List".
