Thread: New Tailor Animations?

Our Artist at Large, Ood_Bnar aparently made a nice little post about whats coming up for Image Designers and their own profession woes. What got my attention was this paragraph at the end:

"While we were in San Diego for the motion capture shoot, we captured some image designing animations- so you'll actually look like you're doing something when you're fixing someone up. Kinda silly but I really like it- and we captured similar animations for tailors, chefs, droid engineers, and other professions. "

I wonder what that could be? Sounds interesting!

Technically, though, the crafting station does all the work. We choose the schematic, put in the ingredients, and the piece of clothing is spit out a few seconds later.

But you're right! I'd rather see a needle and thread instead of us cramming things into our tool's input hoppers.

I'll never see the animation anyway, I always have the crafting windows blocking my view.

At least other people waiting for you to make clothes will SEE that you are working and not just standing there.

Ya, that is an important thing. Don't know how many times I've had to say "I'm working" after people place a custom order and ask me if I'm still alive after a few mins.

Makes me want to run a chat macro every 30 seconds when crafting: "I am ferventing working on your order, please wait..."

Err, what about when you are just standing there and not working on their order hoping they'll go away.

hehe, i hope we can switch them off, sometimes i might prefer people think im not really there... like if im /afk and really working on stock for vendors cos otherwise id never get em done...

all in all though i sure wish SWG supported dual monitors, even if a secondary monitor was only an area for UI stuff as opposed to world view etc. In fact that would be preferable, i'd put all my crafting windows etc in the 2nd monitor and then i could actually SEE what was going on around me while crafting as opposed to not noticing someone standing patiently nearby...

Oh, I do that all the time, Feen! I have to sometimes. And there are times when I've got too many ppl in the shop, and all of them trying to talk to me even though I said I was going to finish this order first. I tell everyone I'm afk, invite the person I'm working with to group and get on with their order. Would suck if animations destroyed that option!

ok, they can't even get necklaces to show up in my inventory or the preview window, and you want them to put something complicated like dual monitor support in??

hehe
