Thread: ID gui for tailor orders.

First of all I'm not a tailor, and neither have I ever been one. So it's impossible for me to be familiar with all the possible combinations of clothes and colours. And even if I say to a master tailor to make me a Teras Kasi oriental style outfit I don't think that the outcome would be the one I'd want. Probably he'll make me something he has already made for someone else. I think you get the point thus far. It's a really hard thing to get into somebody's mind.

I sat down and had a conversation with some friends and the best thing I could think was pushing in a future publish, a Gui similar to that of an image designer. All possible combinations of clothes and colours for the current tailor's skill, worn on the customer. And as a cherry pie the sum of the resources needed for all these, so the price and delivery ETA could be efficiently calculated.

I don't know if that has already been posted and please ignore if that is the case. Otherwise I'd really like to hear your feedback and certainly see that implemented in a close future publish.

that's all fine and dandy but what really needs to be done is that "merchants" or Master crafters could get buildings that only take two lot's that hold more than 150 Items this way they can have a showcase for you... I know I have a lot of cloths in my show case but am still missing a vast amount of stuff I can make... I think this is the best method.. ID way would only complicate things further....

I dunno about this one.

It's bad enough I get stopped or hailed by pretty much everybody on the server. I have to keep my Master Tailor title turned off, or within seconds of entering any city I get bombarded. Regardless of how busy I am, everybody seems to think "It'll just take a second!"

Not to mention the cost of resources can't be calculated as there's no way to determine how much the actual cost of the resources. Was it purchased from a vendor? For how much? Besides which there's also the various other components like synth cloth, metal fasteners, shoe soles, fiberplast panels, trim, etc etc etc... all of which need to be accounted for as well. Then there's bio tissues, how much did those cost? Furthermore there's also the laws of Supply and Demand, which can't be calculated.

And finally, I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit around forever waiting for people to try on clothes and can't seem to make up their mind.

The thing that sucks is it is off site but this here helps out a lot for wanting the right clothes. It helps when a customer knows the name of what they are looking for, the colors I can guess and figure out by what they say, but some people call different clothes different things and sometimes you have to figure what they are ordering. I only work on custom clothing on demand and a knowledgable customer makes things quicker as well.

Don't get me wrong I did tailor to do custom orders, but like you said a knowledgable customer helps... I don't know how many times I heard can you make pistoleer cloths, or stuff like that.... or make me look like so and so in this movie, but that was another thread... I just wish we had more space to showcase our Items rather than having customers surfing forever through a vendor...

yeah its a lot nicer if they know exactly what they want...heh some guy was asking me for a shirt that looked like a karate uniform...turnes out he didnt even want a shirt, what he wanted was the decorative vest...and i hate those people who say make me pistoleer clothes...i dont know what they mean by that, everyone has their own interpretation...tka is usually easy, but i have seen 2 different so called tka outfits, so then it comes down to which one?

but anyways, i think the interface would only cause more confusion...what would it show if i were not making it for someone, but just crafting to put on a vendor? me? and how would it know who to show? would i have to start clicking the person and selecting "make clothes" such as you would in an id thing? or would it just be targeted? and if it was just targeted, what if i accidently clicked someone and now they have a bunch of unwanted windows lagging down their computer and blocking what they were doing... i guess if the devs could make this in a unconfusing manner then ok, but id rather see them spending what little time they do on tailor bringing us more/fixed colors, and new nontemp schems
