I've been a m aster tailor for a while now. I only grinded half of the profession so I like to think I have a pretty firm understanding of what i'm doing and what i'm capable of. I've been searching around for some information on the skill tree and how it relates to tailors and have come up emtpy handed. My question is this: Once you've become a master tailor, can you drop your artisan skills altogether? I mean I don't really craft anything in the domestic line, nor do I really use anything in the merchant or engineering line, and I find surveying is completely irrelevant to me. I'm hoping to drop artisan completely, but hang on to my master tailor, that way i can free up skill points for becoming a bio-engineer as well as a scout. Anyone know the answer to this? I'd really appreciate the help
Thanks in advance,

you can drop all the skills EXCEPT for the tree which you climbed to tailor through.
so the answer is no, you would have to surrender all the tailor skills to fully get rid of artisan.

Furthermore, fortunately, the game is a bit "idiot proof" in that respect. Once I was trying to drop my entire tailoring line (for testing on TC) so I clicked tailoring 1, figuring dropping that would take care of dropping tailoring 2-4. I got a "this is a prerequisite for x and you can't drop it" message. So you have to drop boxes one by one in order, which makes sense.
