Hi Everyone!

I am looking for a little friendly feedback regarding some comparison between the Tailor and Armorsmth professions. I did not play beta and have tried pouring through message boards, character builders, etc.., but I am still swaying between tailor and armorsmith. Obviously I am leaning towards tailor today to have posted here, hehe . But anyhow, if anyone has had a chance to compare the 2 and could respond, I would be very appreciative. Specifically, I was wondering about a tailor's reliance on other professions for components (as I know an armorsmith must get some synthetic cloth or take up novice tailor), the demand for tailored goods (at least in the beta environment), fun factor (Tailor seems to have it all there!), and any other glaring points that would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Well, some high level tailored items require identical factory-created cloth. So you'll need to have a factory, have access to one, or be willing to buy that cloth outright. And synth cloth can have an optional ingredient that can be created by bio-engineers, but it isn't necessary.

As far as demand goes, everyone wants cool clothes! The only problem I've had recently is there are a couple of tailors on my server/planet who are giving clothing away for the UXP. So when I'm standing by the crafting station trying to negotiate a sale and they run up and yell "free clothes!" it obviously hurts my sales. But I hope this is just a few folks in my area and not a huge game-wide issue. And I bet there are some Armorsmiths somewhere doing it too.

I think I'd get bored with Armorsmith. It's good money from what I hear, but there are only a few different types of armor. But we have many many styles of clothing, and a wide variety of colors to choose from. The challenge of figuring out what someone wants and putting together a matching outfit is the fun part for me. I think it would be pretty dull to just run around selling chitin to everyone.

Tailor is totally better. But then again, I'm biased.

Thank you for the response!! Good words of wisdom =) I am still swaying a bit, but agree that the variety in what can be made is exciting! Happy crafting =)
