Thread: Tips to gain 19200 GCXP for Novice Tailor?
The market seems saturated, and the powerups have still the best XP ratio, however there are 300 left until I got enough GCXP for Novice Tailor. Anyone got some tips about how to make it more comfortable (less pain) to gain that much XP? I somehow feel that clothes I sold dont give me any UXP at all and the devices return it way too slow.
Thanks.
I made Bone Armor Chest Plates. They give a good amount of xp and uxp. With Eng 4 and Dom 4, I had 10 expirement points, making my armor some of the best. I sold all chest pieces for around 2- 2.7k, depending on the market. I also did a few head and leg armor.

I just got to Novice Tailor myself yesterday. I do believe that UXP contributed tothe experience pool that enabled me to get to Novice Tailor. Selling items on the bazaar is painfully slow, and I have had much better luck with selling/trading items in Cantinas, at Shuttle Ports/Star Portsor at Public Crafting areas. Although I was anxious to achieve Novice Tailor I tried not to grind andfocus onthe experience required too much.
It was much more fun to take requests and make outfits for people than count the numbers of experience generated by doing various other things. But, I did notice that making Travel Packs seemed to give a lot of experience, and people like them too. And, other than a few fireworks, survey tools, and powerups that I made for myself, I stuck to items of clothing.

Take a buch of painkillers or hire a moneky to do your clicking for you.
That's about all you can do with the XP requirements the way they are.
I never ever had any fear of carpal tunnel...until I played this game.
Now my wrists hurt like nothing before. I played a doctor that could complete heal in anarchy online and didnt get repetitive stress injuries...but here it is quite possible. =(
I've had carpal tunnel for years and the increase in our XP requirements since beta have made me cut back my SWG time. I guess it's kind of funny, but wow I want to play more.

Welcome to the club..I'm a whole wopping 9,000 or so in....only 10,000 to go..bleah. I only have Dom IV and Survey IV.
Metal Clamps give about 30gxp...Fiberplast panels about 20gxp...both are used in a number of items that can sell pretty well. Items that take components tend to give good exp they just take more time to make.
Tailored bags seem to be pretty good exp just take alot of resources..BUT they tend to sell fastand for a nice amount....for now at least....with no clothes decay inevitabley this wil end unless someone dies and looses there bags they have no need to get a new one = bad news.
I've looked all over for someone to say grind these. Response is always BONE ARMOR!..which is fine if you have engineering..on the bright side with all these engineers Tailors and Chefs will be more in demand.
UXP???--hell if I know I've sold a ton of stuff from clothes to food..If I'm gaining any UXP its so small that I cannot tell ;/
All I can say is make stuff...bout as helpful as telling you to make Bone Armor.
This is just a big bump really because I'm interested as well in what is THE item for us Domestic Artists to grind to get at least Novice Tailor/Chef without using Engineering.
I absolutely agree. I was crafting last night and I started to worry about what I'd do if I got carpal tunnel syndrome in my index finger. At first I thought I would just use my left hand on the mouse. Then I thought for a while and decided I wouldn't be able to play games likeQuake with my left hand, maybe Star Wars, hehe. So I finallythought the best solution would be to use my middle finger and ring finger on the mouse. I crafted for a while using those fingers and it was a little slower but not much, I could get used to it. I actually considered giving up crafting in SWG for a minute, thenI came back to reality.
Devs, I know we can use the menu without double clicking, but it's alot slower. I recommend letting us have a key we can bind, like the default action key for crafting. That way we could select with our mouse and perform default action with keyboard. Or better yet, give us a "make now" key that pulls resources out of our inventory automatically makes the item using default parameters. The time needed to assemble could be lenghtened to match. The only problem I can see is it might make macroing possible. I'll be happy if you can just fix all the double clicking. Thanks.
Maybe everyone here knows this but if not....
If you go to options-Misc theres a tab you can click that removes the crafting confirmation.
If you do that all you need to do is double click on the resources from then on(excluding experimentation) its simply hit the return button through the choices..no box will pop up with ok etc.
Goes faster if nothing else.
Idon't have the Eng branch, so I'm exclusively selling clothes from DomArts in order to get to tailor. I'm about 3500 of the way through the 19200, and steadily climbing.I refuse to grind, so a couple skill boxes ago, I took my show on the road. I travel from city to city, doing two delivery missions with each hop. For each city, I make up a huge batch of varied clothing (hide boots, work pants, belts, leather gloves, shoulder strap, travel pack, casual jacket, etc.) and dump them into bazaar while I run my missions. Then I shuttle to another city and repeat the process. I make the clothes exclusively in solid black, and they sell like hotcakes because every 15-year-old wannabe Jedi out there wants to be head-to-toe in black. Every morning, I have a bunch of emails in my inbox and several hundred UXP that I didn't have the night before.
I like my approach for several reasons -- it's not boring because I'm making a variety of things, it's not hard on my mouse hand because there's an enforced "rest" while I run the missions, I make a ton of credits, and I get to see cities and planets I've never seen before. Try it; you might like it.
On the other hand, if you just want to grind travel packs (140 gcxp each), I recommend you sell them on the "dangerous" planets like Lok and Endor because you'll get twice as much for them.
