Travel Packs are your best friend if you can get the hides, 140xp a pop. I took on some Scout skills and went hunting for both money and hide.

I found the best thing to make was armor/clothing tools.

I too made Travel Packs, I do not know ifthere isa "better" item to use if you are determined to grind out some experience to finish off a "level", but I had a lot of hides so this option had a lot of appeal for me.
