Fellow Tailors,

I've been thinking for a few weeks now about throwing a fashion show on Gorath. I would like to list it as a player sponsored event and make it a big extravaganza. So far, I have PLENTY of volunteers to model the clothing. I figure the Theed Palace would be a nice place to hold this show. So, I'm throwing this out to my fellow tailors to pick it apart and come up with ideas that would be cool for a fashion show. Here is what I have so far:

1. Number of Models = 14 Females, 6-10 Males, preferably at least one model represenative from every race.

2. Hold it at the theed palace, or perhaps in Bestine at the theatre there.

3. Have 1-4 Tailors there showing off different lines (Not sure about this one yet).

4. Have an announcer with a very specific pre-planned list of what each model will be wearing and who made it(and the cost?).

5. Practice maybe 2-3 times before the actual fashion show.

6. Maybe a band that plays a different tune everytime a model walks out or perhaps just plays the gig the whole time the models are modeling.

7. Invite other crafters to peddle their wares outside, kind of an enticement for people to all come to one place and see the show?

8. Setup a temporary shop outside whatever city its in with clothes just like the ones that are being modeled.

9. Advertise the heck out of it for 2 weeks or more if possible to get the greatest crowd possible.

What do you guys & gals think? Please add any ideas to add to the experience, I really want this to be done right and hopefully it'll help generate a renewed interest in clothes. Please post any thoughts or comments, thanks!

I've been kicking around this idea as well. Although I was hoping to possibly do it on my own *shrug*. I was hoping to have a few less models maybe 5 females and 5 men..possibly having 10 outfits each of the best items of course or the best looking outfits. I have a chef willing to cater the event. I like the idea of the band playing music as the model does the runway and having other vendors there would be an enticement as well. Right now on Intrepid they are doing a Groovefest with several vendors in one area..it appears to be going well so far. Anyways just thought I would say I think it's a great idea. Let us know how it goes..maybe it will kick my butt into gear and do my own!

Hehe, I love that idea. I wish someone on Bloodfin would do that.

I have a little suggestion for it too. Get some dancers. Dancers have a nifty little effect called "smokebomb". They can set off a smokebomb and change clothes quickly before it fades. I do it quite often myself when I perform.

Wow... I've done two fashion shows so far and my plans were no where *near* as amibitious as what you're talking about Calama. The first one took place in the area right before the entrance to the Kor Vella Cantina on Eclipse, and the second was on the roof of the MEGACORP Galactic HQ. Both went well, for the effort I put into them, but you're talking about taking it to a whole new level.

Hey .. I just put an add on chilasta for models!! I still need a couple more.

Since people can change clothes fairly quickly, I know I won't need many models and it will be easier to coordinate. I plan to do a formalline of clothing, a field gear line of clothing, dancing (using dancers amazingly enough) ... so I will try and hit each of the trees in tailoring then at the end I plan tohave everyone walk out holding a weapon wearing the tactical, flight suit items.

Mostly doing high end items, though I may do a fishermans outfit and a couple other casual wear stuff though I personally don't like much in the casual line.

Don't forget Image Designers! They can do hair and makeup to match each outfit. On the ID forum you can find a thread called "Roll Call" to look up ID's on your server
