OK, here's what we are going to do in tomorrow's update:

  • You will get 75 items per lot, instead of 25, up to a max of 250 items per house.
  • No vendors nor their contents will count against the house limit.
  • Factory crates will count as 1 volume, not 5.

==================

Well, guess I have to reduce the number of displays in the house. The factory crates taking up 1 helps a lot though.... Thoughts?

Great changes all around. Like a lot of other people, most of the space in my house was being occupied by crates and items in the vendor.

I see a possible exploit if you have a vendor, though. Wouldn't offering an item for sale, withdrawing it, and keeping it in the stockroom give you unlimited storage space?

Yes prolly. But they also say it is temporary and they will work on long term solutions.

In any case, I don't think that many people will exceed 75 items per lots. Just curious though, what is the limit on vendors?

That's just the thing--I don't think vendors have limits. All of my vendorshavealways been tied to my house item count, so I haven't been able to load up vendors with hundreds and hundreds of items in the past. As far as I've seen, though, I don't think a vendor item limit has been published anywhere.

Alcril,
One problem with that potential exploit is that items in "Available" always vanish after 7 days, so at the very least it'd be a pain to "store" them there.

Storage of items "for sale" at high prices would work up to a point. If there is a number of items limit on vendors, it's a very high one. OTOH, once vendor maintenance fees are "normal," whatever that ends up being, it'll be costly to "store" things at 10x their market value.....

Thankfully its hard for me to make more than Simple shirts or this change would really bother me. We have 250 schematics or so.. I don't expect to be able to display them all of course, but 150 for a medium house is still pretty low when you factor in furniture, resources, crates. The factory crate change is going to be great though, I can't wait. Crate volume was the single most prohibiting factor when it came to tailoring in the field in my opinion.

Store items on vendors? My neigbor did that today as a stopgap. His stockroom just poofed to empty.

i have a shop and a showroom... looks like now i'll have to close the latter down and just use it for storage, even after their fix in the morning =(

Lots of laughs.

I have a medium Naboo house and immediately after the patch I tried to store stuff and got told I can't because the house is full. I looked at the house status and it said I had 197 items in the house. I removed all my factory crates and deleted a lot of resource containers (which just had double figure amounts in them) and I got this total down to 130. Looks like I will be buying another house for storage (how wasteful is that). I am presently storing stuff in my stockroom until they up the limit from 25 to 75 per lot, but this is ridiculous. The architects must be absolutely livid. What is the point of furniture if you simply can't use because your over your limit.

I have spent alot of time decorating my house and it is a fairly minimalist style, but what with placing drinking glasses on tables, popping scrolls and cameras on the bookcase I need more volume.

Small storage house here I come.

Come to think about it, I think I'm going to check to see if storage 'bots count towards content. Must make sure they have fixed the 'bots though.

I could have sworn small houses were two lots, so a small house should be 150 storage..?

I've got things sitting in my 'stockroom' after they've not sold (or I've cancelled the sale). Are you saying they'll disappear within a week if I don't pick them up from there?

That doesn't sound right...

Yes, they will.

You also cannot use a vendor for secure storage anymore, since you can't make a house with a vendor private anymore.

Sad to say the fixes in DE weren't really helpful at all still can't store things and poor bots can die now, fairly easily. DE's are in an uproar from what I've heard.
