Thread: The old days...

I've always had a char on Kettemoor since I started playing SWG. Well I had to drop tailor there with my alt so my hubby could play on the same server as me. So to keep the profession of tailor, I created another char on Ahazi. The first time I mastered tailor on Kettemoor I had all the money in the world to buy what resources I needed. Finished tailor in a week or so.

This time on Ahazi, I've had to start completely from scratch. No money, no resources, no harvies....nothing. And I'm having a BLAST! I did a little dancing to help support the crafting/resources. But by the second day I had 6 small 3-4ber harvies planted and running and an 8 ber wind power to help support the power for the harvies. Day four and I'm almost done with dom arts 4, and have completed survey 4...but some of the time has been spent dancing. Doing all this has made me remember how tough it was to get started when SWG first came out. Especially since I can't afford a speeder yet and my baby bol isn't grown yet, I've had to do harvester runs in between Bestine and Anchorhead...which is a long way on foot and no scout skills. So unlike the first time I did tailor, I want to do it the slow, hard working way and its been a blast! Its great to actually play the game again instead of trying to master something as quick as I can....its a nice change of pace!

Best thing I have read in a long time! I often fondly recall what it was like to play a full year ago. The struggle to keep things going and the vastness unknown of the galaxy. Plus Nashal full of people :-o !!

Agreed, and I'm doing the same thing. Partly because I'm frustrated with the two professions that I chose on Bria, and partly just because I wanted a fresh start. But it certainly has been fun, especially building up a character "legitimedly". No cross-server money trades, no exploits, just starting a noob character from scratch and enjoying the journey of building it up "old school".

Yep, when I restarted on TC, I did all my characters "old school" with one small house between em. I leveled my doctor using all stims that I had made myself, and healing in combat. A friend offered to tumble so I used that for half a box, and the rest was all combat. I leveled most of swordsman without buffs. I leveled BE without maskscent clothes. I leveled tailor, mostly grinding, but with no money so I had to collect my own resources, and do missions to get the money for the harvesters.

It was fun
