Ok I've got this kickin desperado style outfit, but i'm missing one of the best parts...the hat!
Is it just me or do we have some pretty horrible hat type clothing options?
I think we need to add some new types of clothing like the cowboy hat and some actually worthwhile hats instead of just the fez thing.

As much as I would love new headgear, we have our priorities. We voted, we chatted, and the schems we really really want are listed in the top 5 stickied above. Now, I truly appreciate your concern over our headgear, but the fact is that if we haven't gotten any of the schematics that we've been asking for since launch, it's highly unlikely that the devs are going to put in a non-starwarsy flavor of the month.
If we ever get some of the starwarsy schematics that 90% of the tailors are pining over, then I can see starting to ask for less popular items. Until then, I'm keeping the focus on the consensus' desires. Otherwise, I know a bunch of tailors who would be extremely unhappy if we ended up with a cowboy hat instead of, let's say, Leia's slave skirt or a hooded cloak.

yes we need more starwars headwear, those lovely twi'lek headpieces are beautiful, and dont get me wrong, twi'leks are the most beautiful species i've seen ingame, but come on, why did we get stuck with a miniture santa hat, a couple of middle-eastern towels for our heads, and a decorative headdress that looks best on just females????

Headwear is sorta tricky because it basically has to cover all the hair. Note how there's never any hair sticking out of the headwear - it's because it would be extremely time-consuming to model how every hairdo for every species would interact with every hat (and that's why we don't have the imperial hat, because it has hair sticking out the back.) Notice how the chef hats both have "hairnets" to accomodate this?
Does that clear things up a little?

lol then this comes to the issue of fun new clothes vrs starwars attire...and the fadora that everyone wants is also not too starwarsy...but im all up for better hats whatever they may be...just so long as we can craft them without limited use schems that we have to buy from other players...(can ya tell im frustrated about that?)

Where's the Tailor correspondant? They need to see this!
We want Hats! Forget The combat balance! Give us Attack of the Hats!

I can't believe somebody one starred me on the tailor forum. I understand completely that you have priority just want to draw your attention towards possibly having more headwear options in the future

Aaaaahhhhh. That explains it very well. I always wondered why the Imp hat was such a pain for the artists. It all makes sense now.

I only want the cowboy hat if we can also have marching band hats, diamondback baseball caps and horned viking helmets. Because those are so star-warsy.

I think cowboy hats would not be completely unappropriate in Star Wars. It's kind of an interesting concept actually (since many of the hard core movie analysist consider Star Wars to be essentially a "western" in terms of it's literary style). Also, frankly, I think it's the kind of thing that Han Solo might wear. Also the concept of the "Space Cowboy" as seen in many subsequent films (including the parody "Space Balls" if I'm remembering correctly)has probably been inspired more than anything else by the Han Solo character, so I think there is a solid argument for it being in the game (now whether or not Lucas would agree with this is a whole nother matter).
That said though, *sigh*, Ultrawolf, your "omg! we needs hats, we need to bring this to the correspondent's attention rightnow!!!!" statements are laughable. Certainly new ideas are always good to hear, but what you fail to understand is that we've been building up "wish list" items, full of great ideas from dozens and dozens of tailors for over a year now. Our list of badly wanted clothing items is probably a hundred items long (assuming anybody has actually bothered to keep track of such things), and how many of them have been implemented you ask? none, zero, zilch, nada. So while it's always cool to hear new ideas, and chuck them onto the huge and growing wish lists that we have, you need to understand how this fits into the big picture and that is, it's a tiny spec of dandruff on the back of a flea, that is sitting on top ofgreat bigdog. We're more concerned about the dogs healthat this point
