Thread: Sockets how do they work and what do you need?
Please dont flame I am a serious master tailor but have never experimented with much of this stuff. just figured out BE enhancements last week. I just want to know how sockets work and what do you need for them.
you can get up to 4 sockets inmost peices of clothing (some are bugged and won't come with sockets). At techniques 4 tailors usually get 4 sockets per clothing item. Skill tapes are installed in sockets, simply by dragging them on top of the clothing, however backpacks are bugged currently (and have been since forever) in that they won't take skill tapes cause when you try to install them they just go into the backpacks inventory.
Currently there are all sorts of bugs with skill tapes. Skill tapes with more then one bonus type (i.e. a tape with armor experimentation and pistol accuracy while moving) will only impart one of their bonuses to the clothing item, and which one gets imparted seems to be random. Also installing 2 of the same type of skill tape to get more bonus just doesn't seem to work. If you put 1 tape with +5 pistol accuracy into a piece of clothing and then at a later date try to put another +5 pistol accuracy skill tape into that piece of clothing the mods don't stack, you won't get +10. But you'll still lose the skill tape.
But all this doesn't matter since skill tapes can't be made, and are such a insanely rare drop thatsockets are basically fluff, and worthless fluff at that. The average player is never going to see a skill tape worth using. And thus to the average player sockets are worthless.
