Thread: Hey can we get some Mannaquins?

I was thinking about this, and it shouldn't be too hard. Tailors can get them at Master or something, or another class can make them for Tailors..

Kind of like Vendors but that only allow you to dress them up. Think about how awesome it would be if we couldcraft a Mannaquin for each of the playable races so people could visualize how things would look. As it stands, most of us are models for most of the custom outfits we sell, but if we could get Mannaquins to give that appearence for us, it would save a lot of time and trouble.

Image Designers could be brought in to change their appearence for a fee, and they would be non responsive, no motion or anything, just dead Mannaquins.. Or even Droids that can be used as such would even be better.

I am putting together a showroom for outfits and couldn't help think how great it would be if we had Mannaquins.

I know there are other issues that are more important, but does anyone think they would be a good idea?

Or is it just silly?

Personally I would love some, I think they would look great in my boutique. Maybe its just me but I don't like 'empty' clothing on display, it just seems wrong, which is why I've been putting off decorating!

If after dressing them up they still counted as only one item then it would be great. Sure no carrying them around while dressed but it would help us show more items which can't be a bad thing.

Thinking about it the hard part would be making it accept clothes to be displayed and what it does with them after that. Being able to retrieve them from the mannaquin would make sense but if they counted as one item then people would use them as storage. It would probably be better to loose the clothes you put on them, the majority of the time they're not going to be hugely expensive.

Texturing should be easy, just a simple almost one colour look to them would do. A small selection of poses when it's made up taken from different animations should be fairly easy. Though there would need to be at least 3 different types. A wookie, twi'lek and "normal" mannaquins.

Oh and what about jewellery mannaquins too, just the neckline so you don't get the jewellery floating in mid air, could do the same with bracelets too with a wrist model.

Would give a greater sense of realism and add to the look of tailor's shops. Hey even the armoursmiths could use this, we could try getting them in on the idea for some more support. The more professions this effects the greater chance that the devs would listen to it.

The clothes should work like it does for vendors: they wear what you give them with no "extra" storage space.

I've also been thinking about ways to display clothing. My thought was to have a 'window display' made by archs with tailor resources. the display could have 2 or 3 mannaquins and could be possed.
