ribbed shirts till field wear4, then cartridge belts till master....

if you wanna be efficient. be prepared to waste lots of resources (if you grind)....

i didnt do it that way, but i think it's the fastest

Wow not sure if this is even possible anymore... I have spent roughly5 solid hours crafting the highest diff item i can make as a novice. (roughy7 crates of fastners and11 crates of fiber pannel) and i have yet to make a dent. I am roughy at 1/4 of the lowest skill trees. Now that is grinding on practice mode. I would love some insite, pulling my hair out wondering what I am doing wrong, or could it be a bug? I am also off setting the grind with filling up 2 vendors with what littil I can make at this point. and on top of that when running out of resourses running into town and doing specialaty items for begginers. what am I doing wrog!! help please!

do crates give xp? It doesn't seem as if they do. Before you get Novice Tailor, just make shortsleeve shirts on practice mode . . . thats what I did. Worked well . . . . Sorta but it worked . . .

yes the crates give exp I belive only %5 of the reg. but I when I was making all the pannel by hand it was taking forever and a day to complete and then having my inv full was a lot harder for me to grind ill give it another shot again. I was grinding the madians dress, diff lev of 20. Ill go back and try again... but u would think that after 1000 some odd dresses I might just get one skill point in the lowere area hahahaha

thx for your reply

Well, there's a couple reasons you're having problems. First of all, nothing in the artisan tree will give you Tailor XP. So no tailor XP for fiberplast panels or metal fasteners, or for the maiden's dress. You will have a LOT of general crafting XP though.Second, if the item you make takes components, you don't get any extra XP for that, so if you grabbed one from a crate, there was hardly any XP gain from those resources. So something like the Sleeveless Dress gives you just 70 XP for 105 resources (3 SCs, 1 MF, 30 fiber).

What you want to look for is items that take no sub-components so the base item has more resources. Also, high difficulty isn't necessarily the best - I made that mistake too before trying one of every item and looking at the XP I was getting. In fact, low difficulty is often better since that lets you make items faster. (time required is directly proportional to complexity)

The reason ribbed shirts are considered the best is because they require two stacks (only two clicks) of 30 fiberplast and 30 metal (both of which are harvestable, so cheaper than hides). The sixty resources for the base item is also better than any other item available at novice tailor - the next best is the military travel pack at 45.

Based on this, the best things to make in general are gloves, belts, and cloaks, as all of those are one-piece items.

Hope this helps...

I always suggest doing cloaks after casual 3. Only two resources (hide and fiber), can overlap six tools if you get the system down and a lot of XP per item. However you will need a lot of hide so get all your fighting friends to hoard it...many tens of k of it.

I also got Novice Tailor recently. I had been getting very close to the first levels with a little over 29,000 XP points. Now, for some reason, I am no longer getting any XP making the very same items I had before (ribbed shirts, for example). Does anyone have any idea what might have happened?

I made harvestors until Novice Tailor - you get around 450 xp per havestor. Then once I reached novice I made ribbed shirts and worked up the color path. Then I stopped grinding and made alot of stuff for guildmates and others - then grinded my way through Casual III and Casual IV doing Cartridge belts.

I got Master a couple of weeks ago, and while grinding for it I noticed the same thing. Turns out, however, that this is a bug. You still get XP, but it doesn't show. Just relog and the XP you gained should be there.
