Thread: Non-Stacking of Bonuses in Identical-Cloth Slots is Working as Intended Not a Bug

Yes, that's right. When something calls for 2 identical cloths from a factory crate, and you put in 2 identical BE-enhanced cloths, and only get the bonus from one, this is working as intended.

From a dev:

This is indeed working correctly. For all crafting, stats on components within the same slot do not add together, stats on components from different slots do add together.

Apossible analogy for tailoring that may put this in perspective: Let's imagine a jacket made out of a specific material which has a certain warmth attribute. Making a duster or long-coat out of that same material does not necessarily make the jacket any warmer but will require more material. However making a double layered jacket will make the jacket warmer.

Generally speaking multiple component requirements for a single slot just meansthat more materials are needed to make the item. Different slots imply a different usage for the material which translates into a combining of the bonuses.

As much as we all would like the answer to be different, at least it's now crystal clear that this is a game feature, and not a bug. We can move on from here and focus on other issues (and be really really glad we didn't waste a top 5 on this.)

That makes sense, if you had 11 +150 Dmg krayt tissues for a T21 you wouldnt want ur friendly neighborhood Rifleman running round with a 2k Damage rifle would ya?

Would be nice if they could add a layer to some of the clothing then... an optional component to add either a synth cloth or an rfp cloth component. ESPECIALLY for our wookie clients. They are poor fings.

We have too many clothes that can't be enhanced. I have lots of people asking for specific items to be enhanced, and I always have to turn them away saying that they can't get it because of the components involved. A shirt is a shirt. How come I can't add a synthetic cloth layer to something that is only fiberplast and polymer? Who says I can't make a pair of pants with 2 RFP's, even though it says2 synthetic cloth slots in the schematic?

/gets off soapbox; /sigh

I don't really want to complain when so much else in the game needs loving first, but I would love to see alot of work done for us like there was on the chef.

We definitely need a couple of items to stack RFP in. I feel like we have plenty of stackable synth cloth items, heck +25 items should be somewhat rare anyway. But to not have a single item to stack combat materials in? It's a little silly. Even if they make it 2 3-tissue slots I'd be happy because people would definitely pay accordingly for the item.

Hehe, well, what they did is what a lot of software developers do is code it wrong and then say "yea, that's how it's supposed to work". Way back when the "tissue fix" first came out last fall the developer (back when he was actually communicating with us) admitted that stacking wasn't working.

But even as a BE/tailor who makes a living on this stuff I don't think this is a big deal honestly. It actually makes the whole thing a little more interesting and more challenging for the tailor, which is welcome. I think the *real* problem that we have is the lack of variety. I mean how many people do we send out into the galaxy wearing paramilitary cammos and spec ops dusters before we think we're creating a clone army anyhow?

No there is *no* justification for that. None. Nobody wants everyone to look the same. It's bad for us, it's bad for the customer, it's bad for the game.

Yeah, they really need to do something about variety with regard to BE tissues. Heck, just moving, say, Bleed Defense to Synth Cloth would open things up a lot!

That said, you actually can have some fun with the admittedly limited options a "combat BE outfit" provides. I made an outfit I rather liked for a fashion-conscious Dancer/Swordsman customer last night. An ensemble with Paramilitary Camos in pale purple (a color I earlier discovered was perfect for her Twi'lek skin color and markings) and white. Then I made two samples of a jacket because I couldn't figure out which worked better. White Desert Command Jacket with pale purple "scarf", or pale purple Heavy Reinforced Jacket. Both looked really nice on her, and she ended up buying both (and both with the embedded tissues!)

The problem with BE outfits, I find, is less with the limited options than with the limited customer base. I've probably made 9 BE outfits that were Black Spec-Ops Duster, Black Formfitting Undershirt, and those gawdawful Reinforced Pants (of course, in Black!) for every one that I could have some fun with.

No one would have been asking this question in the first place if the displays did not stack multiple components in a single stack -- and it still doesn't reflect the overall +25 cap on the total bonus.

My preference when this was being reworked was allow the addition of the mods directly to the item, instead of the cloth, at creation.

Course - they do this - they'll probably only give us one slot and won't be able to get max bonus on one item anymore - so I didn't make a ton of noise about it.

It does make more sense though. Fashion and what mods you want should not have to conflict.

I agree with Kasuta, give us more items to put RFP in please. I hate having to tell someone that they cant get the maximum +25 bonus unless they wear some VERY specific clothing. Most annoying. Even more annoying for wookies as they only have a choice of Bandoliers or shoulder pads for RFP bonuses.

Out of interest, are there any new BE tissues on the way. Some new ones would be awesome. Perhaps ArthurDentOnBria can give any news?

I wish I knew. The BE correspondent seems to have gone AWOL and we get no news out of him or the devs at all, and I haven't seen anything about new tissues on any of the upcoming release posts, so I think it's doubtful.
