I am fairly new to tailoring (i.e. I haven't started selling anything yet). I was hoping for some opinions on what sells best, particularly on the Bria server, if they are any fellow Bria mates out there.
Also, how many of you focus on "outfits"? This is what I want to concentrate on. I know on my server there are a lot of "fashion challenged" people! lol.
Thoughts?

As far as "outfits" go, one of the things I do is offer a "Fashion Consultation". What this entails is 8 complete outfits for 40k. That comes to 5k per outfit. I realise that on some outfits I lose money but I make a killing on others. If someone comes in and orders a single outfit I throw footwear in for free and if the customer is female they also get a free Emerald pendant. I am seriously considering dropping all my vendors for a custom order only sales model. Also, as a former Dancer, I give entertainers one free costume and after that a 50% discount on everything I make. I know this way of doing business isn't for everybody but it seems to work for me.

Well, despite being a fellow Brian (Briaian?), I can't say what sells well these days. Back when I was still playing the bazzar and running a vendor, I sold gobs of packs and cloaks. This was launch, mind, so I'm sure things have changed since.
These days, I don't get around to selling much clothing, I tend to craft more for myself and friends. I do, however focus on complete outfits more than individual items. Complete outfits are my prefered way to craft as a tailor. I also no longer run a vendor. All my sales are custom orders. I you don't mind the occasional dink, it can be fun and rewarding to craft "on demand."

for my part, I'm just starting my business as well (I hit master) and I don't have the ability to place vendors just yet. For my guild members I've been doing custom fittings and I've also had a couple of tells "where can I find your vendor" and I'll take my little droid out and work with them to make a nice outfit, it's not a very STABLE business model but I enjoy it.

I do not have a vendor either and I really like on-the-spot tailoring. I also make use of the public bazaars. I generally just put up a few items at a time, a mix of the usual item that always sell and things I don't see people making or wearing much.

what i did was take a tailor calculator...i forget the website off hand and i just sell it at my set costs plus a little markup of course...i then took the price sheet it gave me and then just put everything up at that price...as long as your vendor is well advertised or in a mall type setting you will get plenty of business...vibrant colors sell well...most master tailor items sell well...i don't see a lot of jewelry on the bria server but i don't make very much of it so that could be an issue...hopefully someone will be kind enough to post the website for that price calc so you can check it out...then there is this program called the merchant's friend...it allows you to keep track of your sales(for any profession)i use this to find out what sells well...what colors everyone likes...and my busiest days of the week and stock basically what the customer wants...
so basically my plan of action was to first hit master tailor, then use the price calulator, then start selling at least 4 of each item, and finally set up my merchant's friend to figure out what sells best and what my highest volume items are...then i basically sell most of that stuff and still put up the other items and stock the night before my busiest days(or whenever it needs it)...i am on bria by the way and you can message me my nick is Suzume Yuta...ikkata was my original character but i was tired of waiting for wookiee improvements and just deleted him for a younger model
...so if you need help feel free to pm me

Don't knock on the spot Tailoring
It's worked for me. Granted it's not for everyone but I love it.
