Thread: Armor Equipping delay = Bad for tailors.

Yup, that's right.

I went hunting last night on my rifleman/ranger character, then later on my TK/Bio Engineer character.

The delay on equipping the armor, makes it so that it's easier to just leave armor on at all times. The ridiculous delay in equipping armor is just way too long, I get creamed trying to sample DNA off a mountain squill, then he aggros me, I start to equip my 70% Ubese... by the time that's all finished with I have to stim myself.. anyway you get the picture. What did I do? Went and got buffed, so I could just wear my armor, and still sample DNA without the encubrance killing the time I can spend sampling.

My ranger/rifleman even had someone tanking for him last night, with a pet... same story. I get aggro from an add, and start to throw my armor on... Wound up getting a buff. left my armor on the rest of the time.

Why do I care you ask?

I'll tell ya...

I have a third character that's an Armorsmith/Tailor. I really like tailor, and it's about the only creatuve outlet I have in this game especially when everything can be somewhat cookie cutter to varying degrees at times.

I get to make clothes that maybe use different colors than the usualy people want, and people like them, and they buy them. Sometimes I see an outfit I've designed (yes, I can tell, I use a lot of earthtones, in some fun combinations) and it's fun to know that someone liked something I made enough to buy it and wear it.

Tailor is a lot of fun, but I fear that soon the switching of clothing to armor will become the no clothing, armor all the time, land of a million composite/ubese clones running around...

Just wanted to get this off my chest, I'm not too happy with this patch anyway since I sort of feel like there was a lot of professions that could have used some love, (some more than others) and they gave one of the sections of the playerbase that is the smallest (yes I'm talking about jedi) a revamp, while delaying other ones (smuggler anyone?).

I'll shut up now. Have a good SWG day,

i really dont see this hurting us tailors. there are accually alot of people who dont wear armor at all "like me" so the armor delay has no effect towards me. infact the delay has also sent people to my tailoring vendor cause when they took their armor off they were half nude.

besides we have an armor-balance coming up, perhaps nerfing the composite etc will turn the cards in our favor.

To save time, I change into my armor as I'm riding on my bike...lol.. It saves time PLUS that way if I get nekid for a second or two (by accident), no one will really see me since I'll be a blur

It's an energy field created by all living things.
It surrounds us and penetrates us.

It's sad to say, but most people I know never take their armor of anyway, because they need buffs just to put it on in the first place. (What kind of high tech society are we that cannot make a set of useful armor to be worn by an individual without needing a doctor to drug them up to their eyeballs first??? ---- Oh...that's right the same type of high tech society that USES HIDE IN THEIR ARMOR!) Where was I...oh yeah...

This new thing with the armor delay will only hurt us a little more because those who do wear change back and fourth will now be less inclined to do so. But to counter this I plan on upping the availability of my Melee/Stun defense undershirts..perhaps this will help. But we'll still have the entertainers as our clientel...and they seem to be my biggest customers anyway. (I think there's an unlisted stat in entertainer called Clothes-a-holic...and it gets worse with every skill box.)

i noticed the entertainer clients too,

i'd say about 80% of my customers who frequent my Clothing Store, are

entertainers. They make for great conversations after they have purchased a ton of clothing.

they are the greatest genre of people in my opinion.

20%soldiers and fighters, who mostly are in the need of bio-clothing.

so while this armor change may have run off some of the hardcore fighters from buying clothing,

a very honorable tip of the hat to Dancers, Musicians, and other Artisan Professions who fancy the

love of accually having stylish cloths!
