Thread: Necklaces and crafting how?

Hi

As a new master tailor I am really upset about the fact that we can't see the necklaces while we are crafting..

how are we supposed to get an order right or even make a bunch of necklaces that are cute if we can't see them like we do the clothing we make? I lost money/resources by making the wrong style of necklace because I couldn't see which color was which at first or which ones looked nice together.

I wrote CSR and they said that they are working on that for the future.

Also, I think there should be a way to have your customer see what you are making if you are doing an on the spot tailor job like I do or like to do. Some guy told me he wanted a light pink double robe and then when it came out he actually wanted a dark one but I made two light ones in the meantime trying to get it right. Of course I don't get reimbursed for my trouble and do you know how hard it is to sell a bubblegum colored and cotton candy colored double robe on Bazaar for my troubles?

Anyway

thanks for listening!

As far as seeing necklaces while crafting... you can, sort of. They're actually in the UI window just hight above the viewing area. If you click over the window where you'd normally be able to rotate the clothing image (on the color selection screen) and rotate around, when you reach the right angle you'll see the very bottom of the necklace appear at the top of the window. You can't see the whole thing but it'll at least give you an idea of what the final necklace color will end up looking like.

They say the whole necklace bug will be fixed sometime soon (in an upcoming publish were their vague words I believe). We'll all believe it when we see it, I guess.

what i did was made each necklace, and labled it like C1 Red (list x,y cords of palette), C2 White (list x, y, cord,)

then display themn. once a person sees the design they like, then have them chose there colors .

I'm trying to sell a bunch of brightly colored double robes on the Mos Eisley bazaar for 20 credits each, because I want to see a bunch of noobs running around in brightly colored double robes. But it's not working. You'd think that people would prefer a nice robe, brightly colored though it might be, to their noob clothes.

I've found that when selling on the bazaar, if I underprice things, they don't sell. People will always think there is something wrong with a cheap garment, or that it is ugly, or that someone wants to get rid of it for whatever reason. /shrug.

Another trick to this is when you're making clothing, always label it with the color. People will buy clothing if it's color-labeled over having to look through 50 non-labeled items of the same type. Even ugly colors, someone's bound to want it.

I've sold ugly pink clothing on the bazaar (someone wanted pink but not that shade) and since it was labeled, it sold in 1-2 days.

Clothing I've forgotten to label, 90% of the time I'll just destroy it instead of try to sell it.

The tricky thing is that you have to remember that the top color is the color of the gem. Afterwards, it's easier. Mine sell pretty well actually, just need to put the color in the name (I use gem names).

This is Lill' Bit Master Tailor speaking: I made each necklace.. marking the color i used.. then drew a pic.. then the top code has an arrow going to the part of the necklace it colors.. sooo then i make necklaces.. "Silver Pendant by LBoF (color code here) (Red stone/Silver chain) " Now the customer and tell exactly what they are getting.. that is if they know what a silver pendant looks like hehe.. and yeah how come the Jedi get stuff and we tailors dont????? thanks for the question Later Lill'

Well, for necklaces I keep one of each embedded in my shop's wall. Then I made a note on my paper price list as I made each so I knew what each color palette affected on each necklace.

So now I've got a wonderful little display for customers, and I have more control over the necklace I'm making. That said, it's still quite a pain not being able to see the stupid things.
