I've gotten Tailor 0100 doing ribbed shirts, but I'm really having trouble with resources, and it just seems like its taking such a long, long time to grind. :/ I don't really know how to get started selling my clothes, and, well, you know. I'm just kind of lost. Is there anyone on Starsider than can help me out?

Hi there!
Unfortunately it's a master tailor's market.
You may want to try selling various pieces of clothing on the bazaar, but you're not likely toturn a profit until you can make all of the various items out there. My only advice would be to set up some harvesters on metal, fiberplast, and polymer and wait until you have enough materials to finish the profession.
When I was starting out on Starsider, I was fortunate that the economy was fresh and that any clothing outside of thestarterones werein demand. That's not the case anymore, but trust me when I say that there'sstilla market for clothes and that with some effort you'll be able to run a successful clothing business.
Once you've reached master tailor there are a few things you can do:
- Be sure to put down a house and decorate it nicely.
- Place a vendor or two and stock them with various items that complement each other (like footwear that properly matches the various pants and shirts listed, for example).
- Pick up advertising III and register a vendor on the planetary map.
- Make a few posts on our trade forums.
- Place your store's coordinates in your signature.
- Do custom orders and encourage satisfied customers to tell their friends. If they've had a good experience, this will be your largest source of new clients.
Also, feel free to send me a tell or an e-mail if you have any questions. Tailors are so rare on Starsider these days that it's great to see someone eager to give it a try. ![]()

A few months ago, I started over on Test Center and it was definitely hard to break into a master's market. My original intent was to just sell as I went along, but I ended up grinding most of it, and doing survey missions to raise the cash for harvester maintenence. Clicky!

I'm not on starsider, but I had a similar experience when working on tailor. For me, selling stuff was simply a matter of undercutting the rest of the stuff on the bazaar. Even though you're selling for a low price, it will add up. I was also a master marksman besides being a tailor, so I had destroy missions to fall back on if I needed cash quickly. As for grinding, I believe that link-steel reinforced gloves give you more exp than ribbed shirts, but not by much. In any case, they require less metal than ribbed shirts do, so you may want to grind those if you're short on metal. No matter what you do, harvesters are your best friends.
