I hate clicking on details on all the different clothes on tailors vendors to try and figure out what that piece will look like or even if I can wear it with the other stuff I just bought.
The most successful tailors that get my money are the ones that either dress their vendors in themes or have a lot of looks on display. But not just that, put your "combinations" in packs and name them and put them on your vendor. I personally dont like making a "look", Id rather buy one. A really creative tailor can create a look, then package it and sell it as a "look".
Only a humble suggestion from a frustrated clothing consumer that wishes I could sell back clothing that doesnt "fit" together. (IE the gloves I got takes the shirt I bought off my body when equipping)
Finding reputable tailors that truly love their profession is really hard.

i try my best to display as much different variations of clothing ideas as i possibly can, from ellegance, combat, to my favorite display which is the Taras Kasi look, "decorative vest, rfined skirt, and trim-lined skirt combo"
but we are also limited to how many items of clothing we can place in structures so its not easy to please everyone.
also what is the point of you ranting? you obviously have a few tailors which you fancy, so coming here and putting down the tailoring community isa waste of your time.
why dont you becoming a tailor then, sense you seem to be an expert on the profession.

ok the gloves are common sense, small gloves work on long sleeve shirts, and short sleeves, long gloves work only on short sleeve shirts.

This is Lill' Bit (alt char) talking: I am a master tailor that was a wonderful idea.. but try as you may and put an example on display in your shop .. then make varied colors and put them in packs do you really think some one will know the color if you Label the Pack ...Dark Blue TKM outfit.. no.. we have three blues...each go from dark to light.. and each is darker than the first. I have several people email .. i need a outfit.. ok..lets work on it.. i email back to try to set an appt .. or you can send me a tell .. if im just crafting well come see me lets do some things.. one color looks good on one but not someone else.. so to have a custom made outfit is often the best.. I had a person message me asking for me to make two outfits .. one baby blue and one dark blue.. so i did.. they come to pick it up.. low and behold .. wrong light blue.. i use the lightest blue i had. too .. another thing i dont use color names.. i use codes.. i make you a dark blue pair of pants .. days go by you decided you want a twi'lek wrap to match.. no problem .. tell me the color code at the end of the item name and TaDa .. done .. matches So I think what you really want is for a tailor to be more customized.. well I totally enjoy doing the custom thing... and I will try hard to be available.. but everyone must remember we tailors like to have fun also especially after a long day of craftingand need to hunt for resources also.. so just be patient with us when we cant seem to be right there .. but I wont forget you...

Sounds to me like you're someone who cares about how they look. May I suggest that you deal with a tailor, rather than a vendor? Yes, it is quite difficult to find a good tailor who really loves the work, because there is almost no profit to be had in this profession, unless you do looted items and BE clothing.

yes Tailoring does not get you rolling in money, but then again i am not a Tailor to get rich.
there are some tailors who dont care much about customers, their needs, or anything,
but there are alot of us like "ME" who take pride in what i do as a master tailor.
i get more joy and excitement out of seeing someone pleased with what they pruchased, and especially when
they try it on infront of me! i like to stand back and say "wow! you look stunning!"
that is far more worth it then getting rich
sorry if i may have seemed rude earlier.

I'm not really a tailor to get rich, though I've got a comfortably padded bank account... I'll freely admit I charge more than average for regular clothing, but I've never had anyone complain about my prices, and I often get rather sizable tips in addition to my prices. I guess it's for good service, which may be why I get so many returning customers. It's not unusual for some of my customers to drop 50-100k on non-BE clothing in one visit.
In my shop I keep on display several complete outfits that I personally think looks good. I'd dress my vendors, but between Master Tailor, Master BE, and Merchant Advertising III, I lack the necessary skill points to do so.
I've only had two people go through piece by piece and buy a complete outfit I have on display. I toyed around with the idea of packaged outfits, but I ended up deciding against it. As someone mentioned above, labelling colors doesn't do much good when customers can't see exactly what color you mean. But I keep my displays because they make my shop look really nice.
So... I keep basic color styles (black, white, and red) on my vendor, along with a few extras I wish more people would wear (purple, orange, light blues, etc), and then I rely mostly on custom orders.

Most of my gold is limited to pieces that are purple/gold or black/gold. I don't tend to have any pieces that are *just* gold.

I do have a "Complete Outfit In A Bag" Vendor. It sell's out almost as fast as I can stock it. :/

Anyone have a link or would like to post some pics of their favourite outfits? I just started tailor and would like to get some ideas. Oh, and is there any better way of figuring out if the colours between two items will match besides trial and error? Gets expensive after a while...

I generally undercut everyone when it comes to custom tailoring. Some of the tips you can make when you sell your services for next to nothing is staggering, and you also build a really good business relationship with the client straight away (because they feel like they're getting a favour done instead of forking out vast sums for something they're not entirely sure is worth it). That having been said, there will always be some jerk out there who will take advantage - you just need to know when to put your foot down.
