how many colors do they come in? can they have 3, or is it limited to two? The reason I ask is once I though I saw some that were blac and dark green on a white background... and they looked awesome. If that's possible I'm going to try to get osme, otherwise I'll stick with the green on white that I have now.

Actually, there are 3 colors, the two picked from the palette and a mixture of those two. I'd venture to guess that the colors used were white and very dark green (index 7). The mixture would come out a lighter green, because of the white.
Think I'll just jump into the game to check on this......
Hmmph, it sort of works, but the 3rd color isn't as apparent as I remember it to be.....
Not sure what you saw, in that case.

The problem is the monitor or game settings alter the colors of the clothes sometimes and that makes black look like green sometimes. I spent a half an hour argueing wioth someone the pants I made them are not green, but in fact black

Hmm... are you talking about the first color on the pallete(sp?)? Because on my monitor(new and old)that looks green... Very VERY dark, but definitely greenish. This is interesting... I'll have to check it out.

It does depend a lot on your monitor settings and I've found that your interface colour can have a bizarre effect on clothing colours (I stick to the default blue now as its so much easier for viewing items). Trying to make clothing using Windu's purple was a painful experiance and don't get me started on that horrible green (apologies to those who like that horrible green).
I love the camos, I've managed to come up with some seeming weird colour combinations but they still sell really well
I think they must be one of my favourite items to craft and I now have the urge to log in and make a load more....
