For some reason when I use a bio enhanced synthetic cloth or reinforced fiberplast panel, the clothing doesn't end up with any sockets. I'm using a clothing craft tool and standing next to a personal clothing station, but still not happening.
I've tested this by standing next to my station and making a pair of gloves and they end up with sockets. Then I make the bio clothing and I get no sockets.
So is it possible to get sockets on bio clothing? If so, what could be wrong

By the way, I'm only 0400 tailor.
I have a theory that more difficult items will not get socketed based on my skill level. Is that true?
I was able to socket "Hide Boots" but not "Sturdy Boots"........
My clothing assembly is only +20..... If I go 0404 and increase my clothing assembly, would that allow me to socket more difficult items?

From what I understand you can make more sockets by climing up the Tailoring tree.

My guess is that you have Engineer 4 in the artisian tree, so those items are coming with sockets (Hide Boots). I didn't start to see sockets on any of my tailor items until I had hit Tailor 3, and then it was usually 1 or 2 sockets. BE enhancements shouldn't affect the number of sockets, but it seems when ever I have an order for a 4 sockets +4/+18 Melee/Stun Def. shirt, I will never get 4 sockets without burning at least half my tissues
. Luckily, lesser socketed items still sell just as well.

Actually, I have 0400 in tailor... I'm gonna get me a tailor craft apron and work on improving my Clothing Assembly and see if that helps at all.

You shouldn't really be seeing any sockets on tailored goods until you hit "tailoring 3".

Which stat determines my ability to socket clothing then? At tailoring 3, I would have:
Clothing Customization +180
Clothing Assembly +70
Clothing Experimentation +110
Without Tailoring 3, I would have:
Clothing Customization +120
Clothing Assembly +20
Clothing Experimentation +20

Hmmm. So just by having Tailoring III, I will be able to socket more advanced clothing..... interesting.

The truth is, we don't know what it depends on. We asked Thunderheart for a rundown of what could affect socketing—skillmods, food, station/tool ratings—but we have yet to recieve an answer.

Tailoring III seemed to do the trick. I tried to test it at Tailoring II, but I forgot that I was at a public craft station.
Thanks for the help..... Tailor is a fairly mysterious profession, lol

Nevermind...... I can't get past 2 sockets on some items (Spec-Ops duster, complexity 21). Yet I can't even get 1 socket on Sturdy Boots, which is complexity 19. Guess I'll try Tailoring IV now .....

Hey Rahbert, I forgot you were tailoring these days. If you ever have a question when I'm on, send me a /tell and I'll help you out. Sockets are annoyingly random these days. We used to almost always get 4 at master, and then suddenly they 'fixed' that. Maybe at tailoring IV you'll start getting 3 sockets, and at master 4 sockets?
